How to fix Astroneer’s low FPS issues

Astroneer is a promising game that takes players to the edge of space, challenging them to find rare resources and use them to build various vehicles and machines in order to expand their bases.

Astroneer’s gameplay is quite addictive, but the gaming experience is often affected by various issues. As we’ve already reported, sometimes Astroneer hangs, gamers may experience low FPS issues, steering is far from perfect, and others. Considering that the game is still in progress, players should expect to encounter some glitches.

Fortunately, there are already some solutions available to fix Astroneer crashes and 2015 C ++ runtime errors. The good news is that gamers can now fix those annoying low FPS issues as well. A resourceful Astroneer player has found a quick solution to stabilize the game’s FPS rate.

Also, before moving on to the actual steps, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. It is extremely important to keep everything up to date. Also, we can’t bypass the system requirements, so make sure you meet them accordingly.

Fix Astroneer low FPS

All you have to do is find a particular configuration file in Astroneer’s games folder and modify a number of settings. Follow these steps:

  1. Find the file % appdata% localastrosavedconfigwindowsnoeditorengine.ini normally located at C: Users @ USERNAME @AppDataLocalAstro
  2. Open and paste the Paths = .. /… /../ Engine / Plugins / 2D / Paper2D / Content code below:

[/script/engine.renderersettings]

r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur = False

r.LightFunctionQuality = 0

r.ShadowQuality = 0

r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades = 1

r.Shadow.MaxResolution = 512

r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold = 0.1

r.Shadow.DistanceScale = 0.6

r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale = 0

r.DistanceFieldShadowing = 0

r .AOFieldDistance = 0

  1. Depth of field Quality = 0

r.RenderTargetPoolMin = 300

r.LensFlareQuality = 0

r.SceneColorFringeQuality = 0

r.EyeAdaptationQuality = 0

r.BloomQuality = 4

r.FastBlurThreshold = 0

r.Upscale.Quality = 1

r.TonemapperQuality = 0

r.LightShaftQuality = 0

r.TranslucencyLightingVolumeDim = 24

r.RefractionQuality = 0

r.SSR.Quality = 0

r.SceneColorFormat = 3

r.TranslucencyVolumeBlur = 0

r.MaterialQualityLevel = 0

r.SSS.Scale = 0

r.SSS.SampleSet = 0

r.EmitterSpawnRateScale = 0.75

Most of the players who used the solution mentioned above confirm that Astroneer’s FPS rate increases by 40 to 50. There are also players who have not noticed any improvement in FPS after going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned above. If this is your case, try unlocking the FPS.

If you want to unlock Astroneer’s FPS , just type % appdata% in search menu> select Astro folder > Config> open GamerUserSettings file with Notepad> change FrameRateLimit value 144 to your monitor RefreshRate or higher.

Game Fire is a game booster that will get rid of freezes, lags, low FPS, and other issues while playing the game. Download now (free) for a better gaming experience.

Other Astroneer players suggest that adding the launch command -NOSOUND increases the game’s FPS. Players experiencing FPS increases with NOSOUND are most likely using embedded audio. Gamers with dedicated sound cards probably won’t see any improvement.
