- First you must open the PDF form with Adobe Reader .
- Then click on the option “Fill in and sign” that is located in the right panel on the screen.
- You will be able to see different special options for this procedure in the toolbar, which you will need during the process of filling in the document. They are the following: “Notes to fill in the form” (A), “Sign form” (B) and “Choose color” (C):
- At this point, you must move your computer’s cursor over each of the form fields and if a blue box appears on it , that means that it is a fillable and interactive document, since it contains changes that you can select or fill directly.
- You just have to click on any area of the editable field and the cursor will be correctly positioned in the position so that you can write or select.
- To select a check box or option button, you must also click on it and it will be enabled for use.
- In the event that you do not have any blue field, it means that it is a flat PDF form and in this case you must add the text manually .
- Go to the toolbar and choose the option “Add text” , then click on the place in the document that you want to add content and then write normally.
- In the toolbar you will notice that there are other options related to this type of document filling, such as, for example, you can increase or decrease the font, change the size of the field and more.
- If you need to move the text field, you only have to take it by one end and drag it to the desired position by clicking on it with the mouse.
- If you want to delete a created text field, you must select it and then click on the trash can icon.
- In the case that you need to convert a normal text field to a combined field or vice versa, you must click on the combine button.
- If you need to use annotations or symbols, click on the options menu and select “Annotation” .
- In case you need to write in a field with continuous boxes, then you should use the combined fields function . For its part, the field function “Intersect” separates the text evenly throughout the space of a text field.
- You can also use the “Cross out”, “Check mark” and “Period” functions to fill in the check boxes and radio buttons. Choose the “Circle” option to surround a text and you can also cross out lines.
- If you want to place an annotation within the form, you must first click on the “Annotation” option on the toolbar and then click on the area of the document where you want to add it.
Sign a PDF document
Now, once you have filled out the PDF form, surely you need to sign it and in some cases you need to mark it with your initials, for this Adobe Reader has an option to write, draw or insert an image with your handwritten signature.
- Click on “Fill in and sign” on the right side , once you have completed the form, then click on the “Sign” icon that is on the toolbar and there you must decide whether to add your signature or your initials.
- If you have chosen “Signature22, click on the area of the document that you want to add your rubric , there you can decide if you want your signature to be drawn or if you want to import an image with it.
- If you need to move a signature that you already added in the document, click on the field to select it and then use the arrow keys to move it , you can also change the size of the field and delete it if you need, as we have explained in the procedure above with the toolbar.
- In the event that you have chosen to add an image with your signature, it is important that you take into account some aspects to take care of the result. Adobe recommends using a white sheet and black ink for writing.
- Make the signature in the middle of the paper so that you do not photograph the edges, but the center of the sheet and it is also important that you avoid shadows and lack of lighting in the photograph to take the signature.
Adobe Reader supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, TIF, and BMP files ; so you will not have compatibility problems with the image of your signature, you do not need to crop the image, because the program deals with importing only the signature, but it must be clear enough for it to work.
