- You will receive two different options to choose from. To perform a clean installation of Windows 22H2, choose the second option, for example ” Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)“.
- On the next screen, select the drive you want to install Windows 10 22H2 on. This drive must have at least 40GBof storage space. After selecting a drive, click Format first . The system will then start formatting the chosen drive. When this formatting is complete, click the Next button .

- When the system asks “how would you like to configure”, select ” Configure for personal use “. This option is only available for Pro users. If you have already installed the Home edition, you will not see this window.
- Click Next and log into your official Microsoft account.
- When prompted to set a PIN, provide a four-digit passkey, confirm it in the next text box and press OK .
- On the next screen, adjust the privacy settings according to your needs and hit Accept . Let’s say, for example, that you don’t want your PC to have location information, just select the toogle in disallow mode.
- Next you will see the “ Personalize your device” screen. Choose all the ways you plan to use your device. The available options are Play, School Work, Creativity, Entertainment, Family, and Business. A small description of all these modes is provided just below these customization services.
- After configuring the services, click the Accept button .
- You will then see the option “Use phone from PC”, so click Skip for now . You can configure it separately once your device becomes operational.
- If you use OneDrive to restore all files stored in the cloud, click Next . When you choose this option, all your photos, documents and other data will be stored on OneDrive. In case you don’t want to use OneDrive, click ” Save files to this PC only“.
- Next you will see the “Request your Microsoft 365 Free Trial” window. Click No Thanksif you don’t want to use this option. Or you can try Microsoft 365 for free. Choose the option that suits you best.
- Finally as the last customization setting you will find Cortana. It used to be very useful on Windows devices. However, it is not used very frequently nowadays. Then, click “Not Now” when Cortana’s setup page appears. If you think otherwise, click Accept .
