Choosing the window to share the screen in Zoom
It may go unnoticed, but the choice of the window to be shared as the presentation screen in Zoom appears on the same share button.
- During the Zoom video call, click on the green “Share Screen” button;
- In the next step, all available windows (open for the moment) to activate sharing will appear, select the one that contains the content to be shown and click on “Share Screen” in the lower right corner.
Be calm when sharing, in no hurry, so as not to go out by selecting the wrong window. Another recommendation is to close everything that will not be used or displayed in the meeting, so there is nothing to worry about.
And if I selected the wrong screen, how do I change it?
It may happen that you have selected the wrong screen or need to change the presentation window from a PowerPoint to a PDF , for example. You can switch seamlessly:
- Locate the options bar that displays “You are sharing the screen” and the “Stop Sharing” button and hover over it;
- When you see the new Zoom options, click on “New Share”;
- Choose the new screen you want to share.
Can I share only one application on the phone’s Zoom?
No, but there is something close to that. Zoom for Android or iOS (iPhone) allows the user to choose any document from iCloud Drive , Google Drive, OneDrive , Dropbox , Photo (from the gallery) or a web page (using the browser).
- During the video call on your cell phone, tap “Share content”;
- Choose which will be the source;
- Select the document, photo or enter the URLthat will be used on the Zoom shared screen.

If none of the options offered in this sharing are sufficient for the need for the meeting, you can still share the entire screen of the cell phone. In this case, it is recommended to keep the phone in Do Not Disturb mode, to avoid unwanted notifications appearing during the video conference.
