Cable connection
The most obvious method to be able to project the PC screen on your Smart TV is the one that involves the use of special cables. Over the years, the video outputs of computers have changed and, to date, the most used type of output is that via the HDMI port. Once you have purchased an HDMI cable , just connect the two ends to the PC and the TV and that’s it.
In case the TV in question is really old, you can use an HDMI to SCART converter adapter .
Wireless connection
If you don’t intend to use cables to be able to cast your PC screen to TV, then you will have to use your home Wi-Fi network, using some of the available protocols such as Google Cast and Miracast .
In order to take advantage of the Google protocol, what you will need is a Google Chromecast. In fact, the special big G dongle, once connected to the TV, allows you to transmit content from both smartphones and PCs. Once both the PC and the Google Chromecast are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you will need to install (if you have not already done so) the Google Chrome browser . Once the latter has been opened, all you have to do is press the mouse arrow on the three dots at the top right and select the Transmit item . From the menu that opens, you can choose whether to share only the Chrome tab or the entire desktop.
