Location
The Hotel Plaza, in Havana , is located at Calle Zulueta No. 267, between Virtudes and Neptuno, on one of the corners of Parque Central.
Building
In 1895 a housing building was built on the ruins of the old neighborhood called “Las Murallas”, in the oldest area of Havana . Then the Pedroso family mansion was built, a two-story building that only three years later would become the headquarters of the “Diario de la Marina” sharing a building with the “Leal” Hotel. The land where it was built was owned by Gaspar Arteaga, the great-great-grandfather of Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda .
Present
The hotel has 188 rooms (with 15 suites and three specials, eight doubles and 162 doubles), furniture that preserves pieces from yesteryear, original paintings by the painters Esteban Valderrama Peña , Esteban Domech , Federico Siroca and Juan Gil García , among others. Spanish and Cuban artists.
It has its Roof Garden on the fifth floor, a buffet restaurant and the Fausto bar, among other culinary offerings of refined taste. [1] .
