Causes that originate it
Generalized edema from decreased oncotic pressure (eg, nephrotic syndrome, liver cirrhosis) or increased hydrostatic pressure (heart failure).
Clinical forms
Traumatic. Characteristic of blunt object trauma; it is frequently associated with ecchymosis and palpebral hematomas ; It is also seen in burns (thermal or chemical) and in insect bites.
Treatment
- Remove all foreign substances (in the case of burns), before imposing treatment.
- Cold promotions of saline solution (the frequency will depend on the degree of the edema).
- Antibiotic- anti- inflammatory ointments in burns.
- Oral anti- inflammatories , associated with antihistamines in insect bites.
Constitutional
It occurs in heart and kidney conditions , which lack inflammatory signs.
