A Datáfono is a device that allows the payment by bank card (both credit and debit) to customers who buy or consume in a particular commercial establishment.
Usually a dataphone allows the store, restaurant or other business to charge customers who wish to pay by card. This type of service is usually offered or provided by the bank with which it is usually worked.
The technology used by this type of device was based on its origin in the use of the telephone line . However, with the exponential evolution of telecommunications in recent years, this service can be offered by IP connections thanks to GSM, GPRS or Wi-Fi networks . Today, it is still the majority of premises that retain the telephone connection for this type of telematic processes.
Dataphones are usually included in POS terminals or Point of Sale Terminals , useful in commercial establishments and that usually have a card reader via chip or magnetic stripe reading, a receipt printer, the connection to the telecommunication network with which count and a keypad for security key marking.
Advantages of using dataphone
- Streamlining charges.
- Greater security when managing payments and the corresponding trust of customers.
- Better resource management, saving time and money without having to control a large amount of cash.
- Greater convenience for the client: you do not need much cash and there are various financing plans with banks (discounts, installment payments …)
The technological evolution and the proliferation of mobile devices in the day-to-day life of society has meant that the payment system through dataphone currently has other similar modalities and that in the future it seems that they will be imposed, as is the case of payments by magnetic bands on mobile phones and tablets or electronic purses.
