Black Ops: Cold War Zombies – Storyline and Gameplay

Call of Duty: Black Ops  Zombie Cold War has  finally been revealed after weeks of waiting. This was the first time we took a closer look at this new game mode, which was teasing during a multiplayer live stream. Zombies have always been a popular game mode since its introduction in Call of Duty: World at War . Fighting the AI-controlled undead hordes was not only a daunting task, but it allowed developer Treyarch to weave its own meaty science fiction into its own. However, this mode has undergone major drastic changes since its release, and many are wondering what the new direction of the Black Ops Cold War zombie mode will be.

While every detail has not been announced, we received some good information today on what players can expect from  Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombie mode. We will update this article as new information becomes available ahead of release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War  – A Cold War Zombie Story

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will  completely restart its story. Rather than simply continuing the various plots from previous articles, Treyarch introduces new characters and mysteries for players to uncover. The first chapter is called Die Maschine, which takes place on the very first map of Zombies Nacht der Untoten. Treyarch describes it as a “Cold War story.” You play the role of a soldier in a dark organization called Requiem, and you will be tasked with uncovering a secret base under a destroyed bunker.

You are confronted by a Soviet squad called the Omega Group, which also seeks to control the zombies and the machines that created them. Players will earn “intelligence”, which acts as additional plots and knowledge that you can earn. Treyarch promises that they will be more affordable than ever, but did not go into details on how it works.

Gameplay Black Ops Cold War Zombies

Unsurprisingly, many of the elements in Cold War Zombies have remained the same. You will still fight waves of undead enemies with a variety of classic and wacky weapons like the Ray Gun. Treyarch has confirmed that the Pack-a-Punch slot machine, power-ups, Mystery Box, and various classic perks will return. However, progress has been completely redone. Instead of a separate development system in the Cold War, there will be a single development system. This means that any progress or experience you earn in multiplayer will carry over to Warzone or Zombies. Considering how bad Zombie Mode can be, this should help alleviate some of the mode’s problems, making it easier for random ghoul killers.

You will no longer just start with a pistol, as players can bring their combat weapons at the start of the game. Weapons will now also have rarity, which will increase their effectiveness and damage when playing with zombies. This is to alleviate the burden of having only a few viable weapons in the late game, allowing for more flexibility. Field upgrades will also be available – abilities that users can activate by killing zombies, providing many additional effects.

Each user will also have a slot for lethal, tactical and auxiliary equipment that they can find or manufacture in the field. Scorestreaks can also be used during zombie rounds, allowing you to summon a helicopter gunner, watchtower, or anything else to fend off undead menace. How you earn them in Zombies is unknown, but I guess it will have to do with how many points you have to spend.

Finally, the zombies will now have an additional ending that players can accept. Usually the game “Zombies” ends when everyone dies, but this is no longer the case. Players can now summon a helicopter to evacuate them, but they will need to survive several more waves before it arrives. Treyarch explained that once you call in the helicopter, subsequent waves will intensify. For survival on the map, you will receive experience and other rewards.

Black Ops Cold War Зомби DLC

While there were no new maps, Treyarch confirmed that all post-launch content for Zombies will be completely free. This includes any new cards that previously cost real money to unlock.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War  will be released on November 13 on PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
