he Bible shows that unbelief is an obstacle to salvation and to seeing God’s miracles in our lives. Incredulity is a lack of faith, or a refusal to believe . Faith is essential for salvation.
The Bible says that it takes faith to please God ( Hebrews 11: 6 ). The only way to receive salvation is through faith in Jesus. The person who does not believe that Jesus died for his sins will not receive him in his heart nor will he be saved. Unbelief in Jesus prevents reaching salvation.
The type of unbelief that is most dangerous is the unbelief of those who refuse to accept the truth. God reveals himself in many different ways, which can be clearly seen. However, many people who are faced with the truth choose not to believe! When this happens, people close their hearts to the truth, preferring to believe lies ( Romans 1: 21-23 ). This is the unbelief of those who do not want to believe.
But there is still hope for the unbeliever! If he leaves unbelief, turning to Jesus, he will receive forgiveness and be saved. God always forgives those who repent.

Unbelief in the Christian Life
Another form of unbelief is when we have a hard time believing . We may even be saved and believe in Jesus, but sometimes unbelief interferes with our spiritual life. We have a hard time letting go of the unbelief of old life.
This unbelief can prevent us from seeing many miracles. Lack of faith limited Jesus’ action in Nazareth during his ministry ( Matthew 13:58 ). We know in theory that nothing is impossible for God but in certain areas of our lives we feel God cannot do anything. We must be careful that unbelief does not spoil our spiritual life.
Attention! This does not mean that we must believe everything that people tell us. We must analyze everything carefully and try to understand what the Bible says on the subject ( 1 Thessalonians 5:21 ). Our faith can (and should) be well founded.
How to overcome unbelief?
To overcome unbelief and live with more faith in Jesus, you can do a few things:
- Read the Bible– God’s word has the power to overcome unbelief – Romans 10:17
- Declaring the truth– rejecting any lying thought that promotes unbelief – 2 Corinthians 10: 5
- Pray– asking for more faith – Mark 9:24
