Best Characters and Heroes of Overwatch 2: Tanks

Overwatch 2 puts at our disposal more than thirty different characters or Heroes , divided into three different classes. In this Overwatch 2 guide we are going to focus on Tanks . What are the best Overwatch 2 Tanks? Read on to find out:

Winston

Winston is the best Tank in Overwatch 2 at launch . He has a good amount of health, and also one of his Skills (Powered Jump) allows him to have great mobility, which makes him a constant danger and a headache for the opposing team because he can sneak behind their lines with ease. As the new meta consists of only one Tank per team, Winston’s aggressiveness makes this first place unchallengeable.

It’s true that Winston doesn’t have much to do against other Tanks because his damage is too low, but that’s not what to do with him. Instead, look for holes in enemy defenses and go head-to-head for Heroes weaker and weaker than him like Supports and healers like Mercy or Ana.

Sigma

Sigma is one of the best Tanks in Overwatch 2 for a reason: it’s a good counter to snipers like Widowmaker or Hanzo . His Kinetic Grasp Ability allows him to absorb projectiles in front of him and turn them into Shields. This, added to its Experimental Barrier, makes it an option to consider, and practically mandatory in the maps to push the load.

Sigma also has decent damage with his Hyperspheres weapon, although it is true that they are difficult to hit with. Ella’s Accretion ability allows her to temporarily stun opponents, which is essential to saving the team from certain dangerous Ultimates on the enemy team. If we are decent playing as Sigma and also in the rival team there is no counter for us, victory is practically guaranteed in the levels of pushing the load as attackers.

road hog

Roadhog is one of the best Tanks in Overwatch 2 for its attributes and reliability . His 700 health points are something to watch out for. His weapon, the Junkyard, is a shotgun that has two spread fire modes that have short and medium range. However, the distance with the enemies is not a problem, since we can attract them towards us with the Hook Skill . This allows him to not only lure weak Healers or Heroes like Genji to him for relatively easy shotgun kills, but also nip opponents’ Ultimates in the bud.

His Inhaler Ability allows him to recover health and gain a defense buff for a short period of time, allowing him to drastically increase his survivability while reducing his reliance on Healers. Lastly, his Ultimate is especially dangerous at capture points where he can be killed by knocking him off the map. It’s true that Roadhog doesn’t have a flashy skill set, but he doesn’t need one; it has the right tools to be reliable, decent and easy to play with .

4: D.Va

D.Va is still a Tank to watch out for in Overwatch 2 . Its high mobility (thanks to the Boosters Ability) and the danger of its Ultimate Self Destruct make it an interesting option for practically any team.

D.Va can be effective at medium ranges , holding the line using her Defense Matrix Ability to block all projectiles fired at her from the front for a few seconds, and the Micro Missiles Ability are a good complement to her Fusion Cannon. Additionally, Boosters can come in handy for pushing enemies into the void or simply throwing enemy defenses off balance. If we know how to measure distances well, they will seldom manage to destroy Mecha; when D.Va is if he is extremely weak and it is easy to finish her off.

5: Reinhart

Reinhardt is a very good Tank option in Overwatch 2 . This melee-focused Hero continues to be a good option for pushing the load. His Protective Field Ability allows us to generate a frontal energy barrier that will help the team advance.

When we need to shorten distances with an enemy to take care of him, we have several options : use the Fire Wave Skill to launch a flaming projectile, or use the Onslaught Skill, with which we will start a frontal charge that can embed enemies against the wall , push them into the void, or simply put them within our reach to hit them with the Reaction Hammer, the main weapon. Finally, the Ultimate, Earthquake, can come in handy to sneak into a group of enemies that are also having their Ultimates and interrupt them and leave them ready for candy for our allies to eliminate.
