Bannerlord Trade Guide. One of the most effective ways to make money in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, especially early in the game, is by trading. In this trading guide we’ll help you understand the economics of the game and maximize your profits by turning your army into a supply caravan to help you grow your income in no time.
To start making money at the beginning of the game on a constant basis, I recommend you have at least:
- 20 men in your army.
- Food so they don’t starve (buy 10 grains to start).
- Load capacity, about 800-1200 (5 mules or horses will be enough).
- 1000 coins in your account.
As soon as you can afford it, buy more horses . Since, they will help you load more merchandise. In addition to giving you more speed when moving around the map.
Horse types for trade/Bannerlord Trade Guide
- Load horsepower (sumpter):Increases load capacity by 100 kg each.
- Mule: Increases capacity the same as pack horse by 100 kg but is slower than pack horse.
- Warhorses: Increases the load capacity by 20kg each, but they give you much faster than the load horses .
At the beginning, we recommend buying as many pack horses as possible (sumpter), because in short they load the same and are faster than mules.
Tips for trading.
- Hover the mouse over the property and you will find all the commercial information that interests you.
- When you see that the price is marked in green it is because it is lower than the average of the towns that you have visited or heard rumors. Whereas, if it is in red, it is the opposite.
- Look in the villas near each town where the goods are produced, they usually have better prices.
- If you are looking to trade in more profitable goods and with a wide price range, you should opt for dates, oil, hides, velvet, ceramics, silver ore, iron ore, tools, leather and wine.
- Cattle are sold at fairly high prices. Buy horses in the Kuzait (east) or Aserai (south) region, especially Steppe Horses. These can be sold at a good price in the west, central or north. Think of horses as a commodity that also increases your movement speed.
Understand the process of being a merchant./Bannerlord Trade Guide
Trading and making money in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord is not too complex, but there are some elements that are better to be clear if you are just starting out. In this part of the guide, we’ll take a quick look at each of these elements.
Food, drink and supplies
This is the bread and butter of your business empire. Each town or village you visit will have an option to trade. Using the menu at the top you can filter the available items to see only the miscellaneous ones. This group of items includes things like food, beer, wine, and other crafting supplies like iron and wood. These items are the best to trade and will make you big money in no time. Of course you can trade armor and weapons, but we suggest you do so after you have established your economy.
Buying low, selling high
To get the most out of your trade, you should look for items that sell cheaply and travel to sell them at a profit. The math is not that simple and there are many factors that influence the price of an item. If you travel far between cities to trade, prices can change dramatically and you can lose a lot of money. Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord’s economics is driven by supply and demand, so if you’re waiting too long to respond to a rumor, one of the two has likely changed. The AI has many caravans that also trade in the Calradia area and can cause prices to change.
Price range for buying and selling
In the following table you can see prices to use as a reference. In my experience, prices are determined by a basic supply and demand formula in which the more of a product there is in a town, the cheaper it will be. Therefore, what you will see here might be slightly different in your game.
What if it never changes is where things happen. For example, in the Aserai region to the south there is a lot of production of dates so the price will always be lower than in other regions.
