Ariana Grande was born on 26 of June of 1993 , in the city of Boca Raton in Florida , United States . Daughter of Joan Grande and Edward Butera, she has an older brother, Frankie Grande, who is also an actor. Ariana is of Italian descent so she is considered Italian-American, in addition to having Greek and part of North African descent . Growing up, she became involved in the theater community and attended North Broward High School.

Grande completed her first studio album, Yours Truly, in June 2013. It was released on September 2 , 2013 in the UK , and a day later in the US . The album was inspired by artists such as Amy Winehouse , Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys , Christina Aguilera , Katy Perry , Madonna , LMFAO’s Sky Blue , 3OH! 3, Kool Kojak, and Pebe Sebert.

On March 26, 2013, Ariana’s first single was released from her debut album, “The Way,” featuring Mac Miller. It became a Top 40 and then a Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 1007 and was also certified platinum in the United States (RIAA) and gold in Australia (ARIA). The second single from the album, “Baby I”, was released on July 22.2013. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 (US) selling 138,000 copies in its first week. Grande is the first female artist to debut at No. 1 on the chart with her first album. Billboard 21 Under 21: Music’s Hottest Minors 2013, a list that ranks 21 most attractive young people under 21 years of age, ranked Grande at # 4, ranking her as the fourth most attractive artist under 21 years of age of 2013.
