He was born on 28 June as as 1972 in Boston , Massachusetts , United States . His paternal grandfather was the sculptor Constantino Nivola .
Studies
He studied acting at the Eugene O’Neill Theater in Waterford, Connecticut.
He later expanded his instruction at the Tony Phillips Exeter Academy and Yale University, where he graduated in English.
First jobs
After beginning as an actor in the world of theater, making his Broadway debut in 1995 , and starring in the telephime “The Ring” ( 1996 ), based on the novel by Danielle Steel.
Alessandro began his career as a film performer in “The Secret of the Abbots” ( 1997 ), a romantic film directed by Pat O’Connor starring Liv Tyler and Joaquin Phoenix, followed by John’s “Face to Face” (1997). Woo and “I want you” ( 1998 ), Michael Winterbottom’s film that earned him his first leading role.
Nivola will next appear in director David Auborn’s debut THE GIRL IN THE PARK with Kate Bosworth and Sigourney Weaver . The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and received rave reviews.
Private life
He was boyfriend of actress Rachel Weisz, with whom he co-starred in the movie “I want you.” In January of the year 2003 married actress Emily Mortimer , whom she met on the set of “Love ‘s Labors Lost” ( 2000 ). Nivola currently lives in New York with his wife, actress Emily Mortimer, and their son Sam.
