Steam digester . It serves to subject a substance or system to high pressure. It consists in its simplest form a kind of glass of bronze with very thick walls with a lid on top, which can be fixed with one screw and in which there is a valve security.
Its name comes from the French physicist Denis Papin who designed in the year 1679 .
It is considered the forerunner of the modern domestic pressure cooker and autoclave .

History
Denis Papin made the first design of the kettle. With it, high pressures (up to 5 or 6 atmospheres) could be obtained, and liquids could be given a temperature higher than their boiling point.
The first to commercialize Papin’s kettle was Thomas Savery in 1699 , previously it was presented to the Royal Society of England , at that time Isaac Newton was the president.
Use
It is used in order to study the effects of steam production in closed containers.
Motivations for creation
One of the initial motivations of this apparatus was to develop an effective way to separate fat and meat from bones (finally pulverized) in leftovers from the meat industry.
