The sharp and bitter smell of burning sparklers woke Ignat. Glancing at his watch, he realized that 2019 began 18 hours ago, and the New Year’s promises had already been ruined and the morning hike to the gym was canceled. The room was lit by the last light of the garland, which miraculously survived the New Year’s marathon. Ignat’s eyes and head were grateful.
Getting up from the couch and assessing the situation, the hero realized that reality and his apartment in particular is chaos that he would like to ignore until the next morning.
At that moment, the game console was his only ticket to another world, so slowly but surely Ignat went to the room he called “Vault 4”.
A minute later, the gaming chair creaked, and the console emitted a characteristic squeak, making it clear that everything was in order and that you could play. Now Ignat has to choose a game that would relax him, and not make him suffer in battles with bosses.
Chapter 1: Red Dead Redemption 2

The first to catch my eye was Red Dead Redemption 2, which, in addition to shootouts, chases and action, has an open world. Rockstar is able to create atmospheric environments, while in RDR2 there are no buzzing cars, and most of the map is occupied by forests and fields. Ignat will not only be able to rob fools, but also fish, hunt or even hang out in the saloon.
Plus, the game has a great story. Colorful characters constantly get into trouble, joke, have fun and can even infect the player with positive emotions. There are also side tasks that do not require much brain effort, but they are better immersed in the world of the Wild West. All the same, in 1899 people lived calmly and measuredly, which can be called the complete opposite of the chaos of our time, from which our hero runs.
“A good option, but I want something more cinematic,” Ignat said to himself.
Chapter 2: A Way Out

Scrolling down the list, the hero noticed A Way Out, which he bought back at the March 2018 release, but never made it. An excellent choice, especially if the Shawshank Redemption is to his taste. Ignat had already forgotten about the game and decided that the NV review would fill in the memory gaps.
After opening the website, he began to read: “A Way Out tells the story of two prisoners – Vincent and Leo. The guys are not satisfied with prison life, moreover, their common enemy roams free. The thirst for revenge pushes the heroes to join forces and make an escape. After shaking hands, they signed an unspoken contract that obliges them to act together, helping each other. ”
– Hmm, not bad, but the game is tied to the cooperative passage, and my friends are not in that state now, – Ignat said disappointedly. – I could play with artificial intelligence, but the computer dulls more often than a real player, so not today.
Chapter 3: GRIS

Not having time to close the tab of the site, Ignat drew attention to an advertising banner, on which a girl painted in an unusual style flaunted. By clicking on the picture, he opened a page on Steam owned by the game GRIS. The project was different from the games that go into his library. The developers did not promise an open world with many tasks and characters, but lured with a visual style and message.
After scrolling the mouse wheel several times, Ignat came across an interesting commentary about the game. It turned out that the project was done by two Spanish artists. According to a Steam user, GRIS could be an interesting visual novel, but the developers decided to make a platformer. Judging by the estimates, the guys did well, but in the majority of reviews, the players praised the visual.
The trailer and reviews convinced Ignat to buy GRIS, but it turned out that the game did not come out on PlayStation 4. Laziness glued our hero to the chair, not letting him into the computer, so he had to continue searching.
Chapter 4: Detroit: Become Human

Immediately after A Way Out, Detroit: Become Human was on the list, which Ignat bought at the Winter Sale. The game received mixed reviews, but gamers praised the project. In addition, an inner lover of interactive films wanted to expand the collection. Ignat did not even think about whether to download the game, because the memories of the setting immediately awakened the desire to plunge into the world created by Quantic Dream.
Detroit: Become Human takes place in the distant future, when robots have become a part of human everyday life. They are mainly used as laborers who do not hesitate to clean, work in a factory and take care of children. Because of this, the working class became angry with the androids, starting a “witch hunt.” Most robots are attacked, but there was an individual who decided to make a revolution. Together with him, two more androids are at the center of events, who show the conflict from the other side.
– Yes, this is what you need, – Ignat said with joy. – It remains only to wait for the download to finish.
The game turned out to be quite weighty and the gamer had to while away the time in the smartphone, but the silence was broken by a call from a friend.
Chapter 5: No Man’s Sky

The voices of Ignat and Valera were equally worn out by the New Year, which made their conversation more like the communication of Bob Marley fans. It turned out that our hero’s friend had already found refuge from reality in No Man’s Sky, but he needed a partner.
– What other No Man’s Sky? Have you seen the reviews? Well, this is not a game, but a piece of code, ”objected Ignat with incomprehension.
– Have you seen the game for a long time? – Valera retorted. Six updates were also delivered there and now it’s No Man’s Sky, which the developers promised back in 2016.
– Okay, and what are we going to do there?
– Look, spaceships and a billion planets remain, only now there are more activities. For example, you can build your own base, study ancient space artifacts, fight in space and, most importantly, add multiplayer. So we can safely explore space, and if you want action, then let’s go fight with other players.
– Not a word more – I’m in business. Only if I do not like it, then we celebrate the next NG in your apartment.
