10 Examples of Multiple Choice Questions

Questions with predetermined answers to choose from are called multiple-choice, multi-choice, or multiple-choice questions . They are those questions that are usually used in evaluations (exams), surveys, statistics and others.

This type of question is an intermediate “phase” between the open questions (where there is greater room to answer, as well as they can be broader answers) and the closed questions (where the person is limited to simply answering yes or no , to the question in question).

They are questions in which the respondent or examinee is given a certain number of options for possible answers , so that from among these possible answers, they choose the one they believe is the correct or the best option. These are questions that provide some help to those who answer them (taking the case of student exams), since in case the student does not remember or does not know the correct answer, these options give them the possibility of remembering and reinforce what has been learned, thus achieving the learning and evaluation of the acquired knowledge, through the reinforcement of the information studied when comparing the possible options to a particular question.

They are common within the school environment, thanks to the fact that they allow the aforementioned reinforcement of ideas, by providing several possible options to respond, with which the student can remember what has been studied, thus allowing the mental verification of the knowledge in particular to which refers to the specific question.

Multiple choice questions have a range of predetermined answers from which you must choose one.

However, due to this same quality of reinforcement, it is usually used methods that prevent the person who answers the questions from choosing (at random) an answer from among all that could be correct, by means of methods such as placing two or more possible answers that are totally or partially correct, or where appropriate by deliberately placing partially wrong answers, so that the person analyzes the possible answers and then chooses the best option.

It is also very common to use this type of question in surveys, statistics, and even contests, allowing a quick capture of information by the pollster (political opinions, opinions about a product or service, etc.), facilitating the capture of the information necessary for the improvement of services and products by companies and various institutions.
