This general part is clearly visible when comparing the methodological tools of descriptive, theoretical and applied linguistics.

Applied Linguistics has a widespread cognitive setting,  ironically called “Hocus Pocus”  ( “engineering approach”). This plant as a core value puts no knowledge of “how things are in reality” and solves a particular problem in a particular case . This, however, does not mean that the results of applied research are of no value to the theory of language.
