Kenshi is a swordsman who roamed the world. One day, he met Shang Tsung, who helped him find Sento’s sword in the Well of Souls. When the warrior drew his sword, the ancient souls awakened from the well and blinded Kenshi. Shang Tsung consumed the souls and left the warrior to die alone. However, the spirit of the sword prompted Kenshi to get out and take revenge on the sorcerer, telling the swordsman that the absorbed souls belonged to his ancestors.
During the war with Shinnok, Kenshi fights on the side of the defenders of Earth, fighting the demons of the underworld.
After the defeat of the fallen god, Kenshi starts working for the Special Forces. During one of the missions, Kenshi works undercover in the Red Dragon clan, where he is soon discovered. At the same time, Kenshi and the Red Dragon members learn that the swordsman has a wife and son, Takeda. Members of the crime family kill Kenshi’s wife, but Takeda the sword warrior manages to escape. Soon, the Red Dragon overtakes Kenshi and his son, but the new clan Shirai Ryu and Scorpio come to their aid, whose anger once helped tame Kenshi. After winning the battle, Kenshi leaves his son at the Shirai Ryu base while he goes in search of the leader of the Red Dragon.
After a while, Kenshi returns to Takeda to congratulate him on his achievements in martial arts. Takeda is angry with his father because he thinks he left his family. Soon a skirmish begins between them, which quickly turns into a battle. After the battle, Kenshi tells his son why he had to leave his family. He also helps Takeda discover telepathic abilities and invites him to join in the search for the leader of the Red Dragon, after completing Takeda’s training.
After that, Kenshi continues to work for the Special Forces, which will soon be joined by his son.
In battle, instead of sight, the blind warrior uses other developed senses, as well as telepathy. Also, thanks to telepathy, Kenshi can read the enemy’s mind or create his own counterparts.
