Bedaquilin is an antibiotic used to treat multidrug-resistant tuberculosis that prevents the production of energy inMycobacterium tuberculosis , leading to the death of these bacteria. Bedaquilina is produced by Janssen Pharmaceuticals and marketed by the name of Sirturo.

Indications of Bedaquilina

Bedaquilin is indicated for the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in adults.

How to use Bedaquilina

The mode of use of bucklerin may be:

  • Week 1-2: 4 tablets, once daily, with food
  • Week 3-24: 2 tablets, 3 times a week, with food.

The duration of treatment is 24 weeks and the tablets should be taken with water.

Side effects of Bedaquiline

The side effects of buckwheat may be nausea, joint and chest pain, headache, and arrhythmias.

Contraindications of Bedaquilina

Berequilin has no contraindications.
