Laggo ? or am I ? In everyday life, especially for gamers (video game players), this question has arisen at least once. To be better understood when we ask for something, we need to choose the right terms. So what’s the difference between a lag and a ram (slowdown)?

What is a Lag
A lag is often due to a connection problem and is characterized by a jump or rollback phenomenon (going back in the most critical cases, but also disconnections and crashes of multiplayer games).
How to recognize a Lag
Simple, just look at your Ping (latency with respect to the server), a lagger often has a Ping higher than 500ms (as far as I’m concerned the situation is critical already exceeding 120ms, sometimes you don’t even realize it).
How to solve the Lag problem
If we are connected via WiFi, we try to connect via ethernet cable, if this does not change anything, it means that our connection is too weak.
Slowing down (mourning)
A slowdown is usually due to a hardware failure (in terms of power) or an outdated driver, sometimes even due to some virus .
How to recognize a Ram
Very simple: just use a program that displays the FPS (frames per second, images per second) during the game. Fraps (even in trial version) does it very well, Game Booster also offers us this possibility. If the FPS are below 25/30 it means that your PC is suffering from slowdowns.
How to solve the Ram problem
Update your drivers, do a full antivirus test, and if necessary buy more powerful stuff for your computer.
Note : always ask professionals, not all hardware components are compatible with each other. A simple look at the game’s recommended configuration can often tell us where the problem lies.
