What computer do you need for Valheim (system requirements)

We studied independent tests of the game on different hardware and came to the conclusion that the official information is close to the truth, but only if we focus on the resolution of 1080p (1920×1080). Therefore, based on the tests we reviewed, we have added recommendations for playing at 1440p (2560×1440) and 4K (3840×2160) at high graphics settings.

IMPORTANT: The game requires 64-bit Windows and does not officially support 32-bit (x86) versions of the operating system.

How to enable Russian in Valheim

Select Russian in the properties of the game on Steam, or switch the Language parameter to Russian in the settings in the main menu .

Resolution does not change in Valheim

This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled on Windows. You can compensate for this as follows:

Find the exefile in the game folder.
Go to properties and go to the “Compatibility”tab .
Click the Change High DPI Settingsbutton .
In the option “Override scaling mode …”select “Application” .

Enable high performance for your graphics card

For NVIDIA GeForce owners:

Open the NVIDIA Control Panelby right- clicking on the desktop.
Select Manage 3D Settingsfrom the list on the left.
Switch to the “Software Settings”tab in the main part of the screen and select Valheim from the drop-down list under “1. Select a program to configure ” (if the game is not in the list, then add the corresponding button next to it).
In the list below, find the Power Management Modefunction and switch it to Maximum Performance Mode preferred .

For AMD Radeon and AMD processor owners:

Open Radeon Settingsby right- clicking on the desktop.
Go to the “System”section .
In the “Switchable Graphics”category , set the “Maximum Performance” graphics card as the primary.
Click “Accept”.

How to adjust the graphics in Valheim / how to increase the frame rate

Sound problems in Valheim / audio clicks / audio wheezing

Open the Windows Control Panel.
Go to the Hardware and Sound section.
Open sound settings.
Select the default device(there should be a green checkmark next to it) and go to its properties with the button below.
In the “Advanced”tab, select the default “24 bit, 48000 Hz” format .
If it doesn’t help, then lower it to “16 bit, 44100 Hz”.

Valheim game has stopped working / freezes / crashes / error “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG”

Perhaps the problem is overheating of the video card. Check to see if the fans of her cooling system are stuck in adjacent wires. If everything is in order with this, then try resetting the overclocking: go to the MSI Afterburner application and press the Reset button (if such a program is not installed, then the video card most likely did not overclock).

Gamepad not working in Valheim

Remove the device in Device Managerand restart your computer.
If that doesn’t work, then run the controller setup on Steamand manually set the Xbox Controller mode .
If this does not help, then try connecting the gamepad over the wire.
