The sparkling and bright action game Sunset Overdrive was recently released on PC. You have probably already tried the game, and a lot of it seemed incomprehensible or disastrously difficult. Our simple tips and tricks will allow you to quickly understand the events that are taking place, learn to use all the tricks and nuances of the gameplay, destroy hordes of those who have sorted out and other mutants.
Never stop
The surest way to die in Sunset Overdrive is to stay in one place, and even on the ground. Many of the enemies you will encounter use very powerful weapons, so do not try to stand still. In addition to the fact that you will lose a lot of health points and after a few seconds find yourself in the balance of death, this approach will quickly reset the style bar and kill counter.

Use mixed movement
The combo kill and style system in Sunset Overdrive rewards players for mixed movement. It will not be enough to slide only on the sides or wires to accumulate style points and activate the selected amplifiers. You have to jump off the wires, push off the roofs of cars and other objects located in the battle arena, then return to the wires again, slide with your feet and hands. The more varied you move, the faster the style bar fills. In addition, by accumulating kills during one battle, you increase the efficiency of the set of the style bar. There are three levels of style in total – if on the first one you can use only amplifiers for hand-to-hand combat, then on the last one – epic.

Sunset Overdrive has an impressive character customization system. This means that none of the tuned heroes will be alike. Matches can happen, but this is very rare. The situation is similar with the hero’s equipment. You will use different weapons, increase its power by installing certain amplifiers. And if at the beginning of the game there is no particular choice, then the further you advance in the story, the more amplifiers are available.
These amplifiers have different effects – some allow you to earn money when killing enemies (or energy drinks), others increase damage, others undermine opponents after they are destroyed, and the fourth once again emphasize the humorous component of the game. An example of the last amplifier can be a special item that allows you to accumulate a style scale up to the fourth level, thanks to which the voice of the announcer will comment on all the events that take place in battle and praise your character.

You will be given two slots for the hero’s amplifiers, one for hand-to-hand combat, one for “bombs” (“Space” + V), one for an epic amplifier that allows you to use incredibly powerful skills.
Level up your weapons
Each weapon purchased or found in your inventory has its own experience point scale. With each new level, you strengthen your weapon, increasing the amount of ammunition and overall damage. In addition, the transition to the second level will allow you to install an amplifier on your weapon. These amplifiers work in a similar way to those described in the previous paragraph.

Floyd is a professional chemist, which allows him to create various amplifiers for the main character of the game. From time to time (as the storyline and side quests are completed), his assortment is replenished. Chaos Squad is the best way to get boosters
Sunset Overdrive supports cooperative playthroughs. On the streets of the city (if, of course, you are not playing the pirate version) there are photo booths that allow you to access the Chaos Squad online mode. The better you fight in battles, the more points you earn. After a successful night defense, all points earned will be recalculated, thanks to which you will receive a reward. As a reward, you can be given cash, energy, upgraded amplifiers, customization items and much more.
Keep doing what you love and earn badges
As you progress through the game, pop-ups will periodically appear on the screen, stating that you have earned a new badge. These icons are another type of in-game currency used to unlock special boosts – cruisers. Spend these badges to increase your slip efficiency, weapon power, maximum ammo capacity, and more.

Sunset Overdrive is not like other shooters in which you have to fight with a lot of enemies. In contrast, you need to constantly move, so aiming can be difficult. In fact, Insomniac Games has done a great job on the training system and in the first 20-30 minutes of the game you will be allowed to smoothly adapt and understand the basics. And you will not even notice how, after an hour of playing time, you will start to move chaotically across the battlefield and aim at opponents.
