Spiramycin is a medicine known commercially as Rovamycin.This oral medicine is an antibacterial, indicated for the treatment of infections caused by germs that usually attack the respiratory system, skin and genital regions.
Spamycin Indications
Toxoplasmosis (during pregnancy); gingival abscess; stomatitis; gingivitis; periodontitis.
Spamycin Side Effects
Allergic manifestation in the skin; diarrhea; vomiting; nausea
Contraindications of Spamycin
Pregnant or lactating women; Hipersensibility to any of the formula’s components.
Directions for Use of Spamycin
Oral use
Adults
- Bacterial Infection: Administer 1-2 g of spiramycin twice daily or 500 mg to 1 g 3 times daily. In severe infections the recommended dose is 2 to 2.5 mg twice a day.
- Toxoplasmosis in pregnant women: In the first trimester of pregnancy 3 g of Spamycin per day should be given in 3 or 4 doses.
- Dental Problems: Administer 4 to 6 Spiramycin tablets divided into 3 to 4 doses for 5 to 10 days.
