Shirley Temple ( Los Angeles , 23 April as as 1928 – San Francisco , October as February as 2014 ) was an American child actress and diplomat.

Biographical synthesis

He was born in the Santa Monica district , 17 miles west of downtown Los Angeles. She was the third daughter of Gertrude Temple (housewife) and George Temple (bank clerk).

At the age of three, her parents put her to work in the film industry – child labor is not prohibited in the United States – in the Hollywood district , just 15 km northeast of Santa Monica.

Artistic career

He made his debut in Stand up and cheer (1934), a musical starring Warner Baxter and Madge Evans, and gained such popularity that he became a superstar.

Then he starred in Now and Always during that same year with Gary Cooper and his success was so great that the toy and image trade was launched with his image. Shirley’s doll is made of porcelain by Danbury Mint. But he often suffered from eye deterioration, surface cracking, or mold slowly destroying by material. Premium prices are paid for dolls wearing the original box, dresses, tag, and pin. Shirley’s collection of more than 700 dolls was given to Stanford Children’s Hospital in 1972 for display at the reception.

His immense fame gave him the following year, at the Oscar awards ceremony , the consecration with a special statuette for his contribution to the world of entertainment in 1934. That same year he signed a contract with Fox that got the company out of its serious problems financial

Adolescence

Shirley married actor John Agar in 1945 , whom she met in the film Fort Apache . In 1948 they had a daughter named Linda Susan Agar. His alcoholism damaged her marriage and her career. Her daughter adopted the surname of her mother’s second husband (Charles Black): Linda Black. John Agar died on April 8, 2002, aged 81, at the St. Joseph of Providence Medical Center in the Burbank district of the city of Los Angeles . He was born in Chicago in 1921.

In 1949 he made several important decisions in his life. She decides to leave her acting career and divorce Hagar. His last film was Adventure in Baltimore , a Richard Wallace comedy. He accepted that he had lost his appeal to the public due to an unavoidable cause: he had grown up. She soon remarried a television entrepreneur, Charles Black.

Political career

Later he tried to return to television, but was not so successful and he devoted himself to politics and diplomacy for the UN . He became ambassador to the United States in Ghana (1974-1976) and Czechoslovakia (1989). He set out to finish writing his first autobiography Star Girl . Shirley was also in charge of the implementation of all State Department visits, ceremonies, gifts for foreign heads of state, and liaison to all foreign embassies and consulates located in the United States. He received honorary doctorates from Santa Clara University and Leigh University, a scholarship from the University of Notre Dame, and a scholarship from Yale University .

He has also served on the boards of the Commission for UNESCO , the U.S. National Committee on U.S.- China Relations , the United Nations, the Sino -American Society, and the Citizens’ Space Task Force of the United States. U.S). In 1976 she became the first female head of protocol in the United States. He was a founding member in 1983 and currently serves on the board of directors of the American Academy of Diplomacy; She is also a co-founder of the International Federation of Multiple Sclerosis Societies .

In 2002, a bronze statue of Shirley Temple was unveiled in Los Angeles .

He died on 10 February of of 2014 to 85 years in Woodside, district 45 km south of the city of San Francisco.
