Sally yates

Sally Yates. American lawyer and politician. Former Acting Attorney General of the United States . Appointed state attorney general in 2015, becoming number two in the Justice Department of the Barack Obama Administration . Dismissed from office and charged with treason in 2017 after opposing Donald Trump’s decree on refugees and immigrants. He focused his efforts on strengthening public safety, reforming the criminal justice system, and improving the prison system.

Biographical synthesis

Born in Atlanta , United States , in 1960 .

In 1989 , she was appointed number two in the Georgia State Attorney’s Office, in the southeast of the country. In 1995 , she was in charge of directing the accusation against Eric Rudolph , the author of the attack at the Atlanta Olympic Games that killed one person and left more than a hundred injured.

He was part of the circle of advisers closest to former Attorney General Eric Holder , from 2009 to 2015 .

She was in charge of overseeing a White House initiative that commuted the sentences of more than 1,000 detainees convicted of non-violent crimes.

In 2010 , Obama appointed her attorney general for the Georgia district , the first woman to receive this position. In 2015, she was named attorney general of the State and with that movement she became number two in the Department of Justice of the Government of Barack Obama .

In 2017, after opposing Donald Trump’s decree on refugees and immigrants, she was removed from office and charged with treason.
