Be aware of risks during night races

Night races are the exact opposite of day races. If during the day you compete only with your rivals on the race track, then at night you will be hindered by vehicles passing through the city, as well as by patrol cars. Despite this difficulty, night races must be completed: for each reputation level you will receive offers for new unique spare parts for your car.

If your name is not heard, then the underground merchants simply won’t sell you new improvements.

For each night race, you get a certain amount of reputation, which can be multiplied several times if you successfully escape the chase. The easiest way to hide from the police is to leave the road and take cover behind buildings, or immediately change your trajectory.

Do not overdo it! When the “heat” level reaches its maximum, all free patrols in the city will rush after your car.

In addition, some of the police cars will be equipped with sports engines. It is quite difficult to break away from such cars, especially at the initial stage. If you are caught, then all savings, as well as earned reputation points, will be canceled. You will have to earn respect and money again. Arrest is another reason to upgrade your transport before a night outing.

Master new drift mechanics

In the previous parts of the franchise, to activate the skid, it was necessary to “tighten” the handbrake and further try to keep the car on the road. Need For Speed: Heat has an all-new drift mechanic that many find easy to learn. To make the car skid, you need to tilt the stick in the right direction just before the turn (or press the corresponding control key), then momentarily release the gas and press again. Thus, the car will start drifting. The most important thing is to feel at what moment you need to use a skid, because if this happens too late, the car will pull off the track and will be on the sidelines.

Don’t be afraid to crash!

In the new game, trees, bumpers and other small objects will not interfere with the user, since they are all demolished in a collision. Of course, such collisions are accompanied by a decrease in speed and deterioration of the vehicle’s condition. But, in most cases, this element will play into your hands, because in a collision you will not lag far behind your rivals, and you will not have to constantly repeat the race.

Do not forget that stone obstacles (bridges, buildings, etc.) cannot be destroyed.

Depending on the difficulty level, the effect of a collision with other cars at night is reduced or increased. For example, when passing a single player game at a low level, almost all transport in a collision will literally fly off your car, while at maximum difficulty, when you hit someone else’s car, your car will lose a lot of speed.

Use the map

If you get lost or want to find the nearest gas station during the chase, just open the map. This is completely safe, as the game is paused while viewing the map. Place a marker on the desired object or event and follow the marker on the minimap to the left.

Buy multiple cars

The fact is that there is no quick modification of the vehicle in the game. This means that your car will have to be refitted just before the desired arrival, which, let’s say, is very tiring. In the story, you will fight for victory in various races: ring races on city streets, drift and off-road races. In order not to waste your time on constant modifications of vehicles for a particular race, we recommend purchasing several cars and adjusting each one for the chosen driving style. For example, for racing on asphalt we use a BMW M3 , for drifting we choose a Ford Mustang 65 , and in off-road competitions we prefer a BMW X6M . You can customize your car in the garage by purchasing the necessary parts for it.

Complete Racer Challenges

Rider Challenges are a good opportunity to earn reputation and money . Such tests are day and night. If during the day you can only earn money for winning the race, and reputation at night, then the rewards for trials are issued the other way around. In the daytime, for each test point you will receive reputation, and at night – money. Each test is divided into three sub-items that must be completed. There is nothing complicated in them: it is enough to win in current events, drift, develop a certain speed, crash police cars and so on. In general, everything that you already do when passing Need for Speed ​​Heat.

Complete competitions

Radars

From time to time, when performing night races, you will be forced to participate in chases with the police. And as we said, the cops in NFS: Heat are pretty dangerous even on low difficulty. If you want to end the night in a positive way, try not to provoke the law enforcement officers and avoid collisions with them until you arrive at the garage. But it is not always possible to avoid conflict. Therefore, we recommend that you prepare your vehicle for a serious chase.
