When the external hard drive is not recognized by the PC, the Windows operating system gives you a very simple solution through the configuration of the computer.
What you need to do is verify that the one that is not detected by the computer appears at least installed inside the computer. Through the option to Manage your PC equipment you can ensure this step.
A window called “Computer Management” will appear on your screen, with the “Storage” option that contains “Disk Management” in its left column.

The cause of this is simply that the connection between the computer and the disk is not being made correctly , so there are two possible solutions:
- The main way to solve it is by reinstalling the driver, which you can find by going to the manufacturer’s page.
By finding the model of your hard drive, you can download it to your computer. If not, there is also the possibility of using other programs or applications that allow you to install the driver if Windows does not do it automatically.
- If the above solution doesn’t work, resort to opening the PC and checking that the external hard drive is properly connected to the rest of the computer.
After completing either of these two options, remember to verify that the disk has been automatically detected successfully.
