John tyler bonner

John Tyler Bonner. He was an American biologist, an expert on the life cycle of the Myxomycota. He is considered one of the greatest experts in mucilaginous fungi, to the study of which he dedicated part of his life. They are amoebas (microscopic single- cell organisms ) that aggregate in hundreds of thousands to form a colony (called ‘plasmodia’), which acts as a single individual and performs a wide range of sophisticated behaviors.

Career path

At age ten he moved to France and at thirteen to the United Kingdom . There he was able to discover his passion for nature , which on his return to the United States launched him into a prolific career that would begin at Harvard University .

He was a professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University . He has been a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Academy of Sciences of the United States.
