Isaac Newton

We have already mentioned on numerous occasions the illustrious character who accompanies us today, Isaac Newton. But we have never been interested in aspects of his life before, what led him to be who he is? What are the subjects you worked on? We will thus realize that any one of us could become like him.

Isaac Newton was a physicist, philosopher, theologian, inventor, and mathematician who lived in England in the years 1643-1727. Despite being born in preterm labor at the height of Christmas and not believed to live more than a few weeks, Newton lived 84 years and left a very important mark on our history. He did not have an easy childhood, since he did not get to know his father, who died two months before his birth. His mother remarried, but his stepfather was not in favor of carrying a 3-year-old boy, and he happened to be in charge of his grandparents, to whom he never dedicated a loving memory. This fact was a stage that marked little Isaac, so much so that he went on to write a list of sins in which he included: “Threatening my father and mother Smith with burning them and their house.”

At twelve he was sent to study at a college in Grantham, where he studied, as was typical of the time, Latin, Greek, and some basic notions of geometry and arithmetic. Thanks to these primary studies I was able to study various mathematical works since they were written in Latin. This fact also allowed him to come into contact with several European scientists. He was a rather lonely child, he found it difficult to establish relationships with people his age (perhaps, due to his cunning and intelligence, the children could think he was laughing at them), and the envy that his intelligence caused his parents It led him to perform many mischiefs that he evidently denied having done.
From some anecdotes it is known that he preferred the feminine company; It is worth noting a friend Miss Sorer, to whom she built doll furniture. In addition, it could also be that there was a romance between them when they were older, if so, it was their only and last relationship with a woman.
During her youth, during her period at school, she carried out numerous mechanical works: a windmill, which was a replica that improved the original; or a flashlight that allowed him to go to school, which he attached to a comet. He also built a multitude of sundials for everything around him.

At the age of eighteen he entered the University of Cambridge, however, he was always a mediocre student who did not attend class regularly, since he was more interested in the library, so we can consider that Isaac Newton was a self-taught person.

In 1663 he met Isaac Barrow, who became his teacher, although he soon got over it and Barrow was forced to ask Newton for advice. During this time, geometry and optics played a very important role in Newton’s life. Correspondence with the Royal Society (of which he was president) also began on this date, thus beginning his fame, sending them some of his discoveries and a telescope that aroused great curiosity. As we know, he also carried out studies on mechanics and gravity, which have been very important in our history.

But perhaps because he dedicated his life to study and invention, in 1693 he suffered a great psychological crisis, falling into depression and with fits of paranoia.
