The Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC DLC will add new characters in the months following the game’s release, with a total of six new fighters.
And the first to arrive will plant Piranha , which is available free to everyone who bought the game before the 21 January 2019 and comes with the update 2.0 for Smash Bros .
After that we will have to look at the Fighters Pass, which will offer five new characters that will be added until February 2020.

How to get Piranha Plant in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Piranha Plant is available free to everyone who purchased Super Smash Bros Ultimate before the end of January 2019.
However, buying the game is not enough. Whether you buy it from a physical store or from the eShop, you will have to complete certain extra steps to get the Piranha Plant code: specifically, claim your Gold Points from the Switch menu.
If you have bought Super Smash Bros Ultimate in the eShop then your points are added to your profile automatically, and the Piranha Plant code will arrive at the email registered in your Nintendo account.
If you have purchased a physical copy of Super Smash Bros Ultimate you will have to insert the cartridge into the console, select the game icon from the menu and press the + (plus) button.
Then select “My Nintendo Rewards Program” at the bottom, “Earn points (with game card only)” and select the Nintendo Account you want to associate those points with.
When you have claimed your Gold Points take a look at the email you have associated with your Nintendo Account. The email that reached us was this:
Keep in mind that it can take up to 10 business days to arrive, according to Nintendo, and be sure to also take a look at the spam folder, do not go there (in Gmail, also, do not forget to look at the ‘promotions’ tab).
If after that time the code has not yet reached you, contact Nintendo directly .
When you have the Piranha Plant code, you can stop panic attacks, because it does not expire until June 30 of this year. As long as you have the code in your possession before the end of January, you can sleep easy.
To redeem the Piranha Plant code , go to the eShop, then ‘Redeem code’ at the bottom and enter it.

Then when you update Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to version 2.0, Piranha Plant will automatically unlock.
If you haven’t gotten the Piranha Plant code, you can purchase it as paid DLC starting in February 2019. The price is not yet known, and it will not be part of the Fighters Pass.
What else do we know about the Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC?
Ahead of the game’s release, series director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that there will be DLC for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
There will be five sets for 5.99 euros each that will add a wrestler, a stage and various related musical themes. They will not include Eco fighters.
The first fighter to arrive via DLC will be Joker from Persona 5:

It is also possible to get all five sets by purchasing the Fighters Pass for 24.99 euros, which also offers an outfit for the Mii Swordsman based on Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
All fighters that arrive via DLC will do so before February 2020.
