- Access the Chat Box: To bring up the chat box, you’ll need to press the touchpad on your PS4 controller. This touchpad press serves as the default key to access the chat interface.
- Virtual Keyboard: Once the chat box is open, you’ll see a virtual keyboard on your screen. This keyboard can be navigated using the left joystick on your controller.
- Select Letters: Use the left joystick to move a cursor around the virtual keyboard and highlight the letters you want to type.
- Type Your Message: As you highlight each letter, press the “X” button on your controller to select that letter and add it to your message. Continue selecting letters one by one until you’ve typed your complete message.
- Spaces and Special Characters: Use the joystick to navigate to the spacebar if you need to add spaces between words. You can also navigate to special characters and symbols as needed.
- Send the Message: Once you’ve typed your message, navigate to the “Send” button (usually located on the right side of the virtual keyboard) and press the “X” button to send your message.
