At the end of March, Microsoft announced a new feature for the new Bing; the possibility of generating images by AI with the support of DALL-E and directly from your browser’s chatbot, which is powered by ChatGPT, and more specifically by GPT-4, the powerful OpenAI language model. It is a more efficient and faster way to create designs using artificial intelligence, and although it is still in beta, it is possible to test it with a few simple steps. We tell you how.
First of all, you should be aware that the ability to create images with DALL-E via Bing with ChatGPT has some limitations . For example, being in beta, the AI only supports commands in English. Microsoft has also included some adjustments to prevent users from producing controversial designs or so that anyone can know that that image has been generated by AI. But how can we create images?
First of all, to generate images using DALL-E with Bing you need to have access to the chatbot. Although it continues in beta phase, any user can sign up with their Microsoft account and receive access at the moment, since a few weeks ago, Microsoft deactivated the waiting list. Follow these steps to create images with DALL-E using Bing with ChatGPT
Once you have access to the new Bing with ChatGPT, access Bing.com and click on the ‘Chat’ section that appears in the top menu. Within the chat, the AI will display a prompt to choose the conversation style. In order to create images through DALL-E, it is necessary to choose the ‘Most Creative’ mode.
Bing with ChatGPT, we reiterate, only allows you to generate images through DALL-E if the text description is in English. Therefore, it is also necessary to activate a setting that allows the chatbot to understand commands in English , even if the region is Spain or another non-English speaking country. To do this, in the same chat window, go to the drop-down menu that appears in the upper area (it is an icon with three lines) and click on ‘Settings’.
Then, click on ‘Language’ and in the ‘Languages of search results’ section , choose the option called ‘I prefer results in these languages’. Finally, also mark English. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap ‘Save’.
Now, all you have to do is ask the chat to create an image and describe what you want to appear in the design. Remember, yes, that it must be in English. For example, you can put: “Can you create me an image of a dog aboard a spaceship?”, and DALL-E’s AI will do the rest.
You must also take into account that there are some other limitations when creating images to avoid confusion with real photographs and preserve the privacy of some people. In fact, DALL-E on Bing with ChatGPT cannot generate designs that include a famous person .
