Fall Guys is now available in closed beta, with the gameshow-style battle royale game finally available to try before its official launch. While it looks like a simple game on the surface, you’ll need to know if you really want to walk out of the game with that winner’s crown. Here’s a guide with some Fall Guys tips to find out how to win and take that crown home for you.
Find out when to grab
When you catch another player, your controller will begin to rumble. The longer you take them, the more intense the rumble will be. When this rumble reaches maximum intensity, whatever they are holding will come out of their hands.
This means that in turns like Egg Scramble, where players compete to collect and place eggs in their team’s goal, grabbing an opponent can eventually cause them to throw the egg they are carrying in the air. This is especially useful when an opponent is trying to steal eggs from your target and grabbing them for a long time as a team will lead them to free the egg they are trying to steal.
Stops the progress of the opponents
Outside of Egg Scramble, the grab can be used to prevent players from progressing. If you are following closely behind an opponent, pressing grabbing at the exact moment they try to jump over a gap can cause them to fall and be eliminated, without hurting you.
Also, in other team rounds like Rock ‘n’ Roll, you will occasionally need to run to defense and stop other teams from pushing their ball down the hill by grabbing and pushing them away.
Work in a group
In rounds like See Saw, where players rely on platforms to balance to progress, you recognize how many players are running ahead of you to determine which side of the See-Saw you should land on. An unbalanced See-Saw can take a long time to correct, and only by recognizing other players will you be able to get past the path quickly.
Stay central
In rounds like Door Dash which will see you condensed into narrow streets, you have to stay central. Fall Guys has a habit of routinely forcing you to stumble every time you’re caught on one of the edges of its arenas, and this happens much more frequently if you’re being bombarded by other players. Stick to the center of the package to avoid being stepped on and left in the dust.
Dive into long jumps
Your dive should be used sparingly, as doing so will temporarily freeze you while on the ground. However, you can use it to make otherwise complicated jumps much easier and to make sure you don’t fall off the edges of a map to your destiny.
Diving is especially useful in the Jinx round, which pits you against another team in a tag battle. Jinx’s map is full of bigger jumps and you can safely traverse them by diving. It also makes it much easier for you to jump on the two rotating platforms, which are harder for other players to reach and consequently will make a more difficult goal for you.
