Dodgeball

Dodge or shine . It is a popular game known as to kill , alive and dead , the burned , burned fields , the delegate , the matador , shot ball , the nations , the slaughter , matasapo , with different variants, normally practiced in physical education classes. They are divided into two teams and one court is divided into two. The teams are located, one on each side of the court. From each team there will be a player (delegate) located in the opposite field outside the limits of the rectangle.

With a single ball in play, the players of either team will try to kill the opposing players of the other team by throwing the ball so that it hits them without any previous spike and falls to the ground. The burned players will go to the area where the delegate is located and will be able to burn the opposing players if the ball reaches their hands and with that ball they hit someone from the opposite team.

Game Features

It can be played on the playgrounds, in the wide squares. On the ground a rectangle is drawn , with a more or less wide surface, which will depend on the number of participants. A line is drawn perpendicular to the longest side in its middle part to divide the figure into two equal fields. Sometimes the expansion joints in the cement floors or the painted lines of that surface that correspond to other games are used and thus the field is already delimited. The participants are divided into two groups and each team is placed on their field, which has previously been drawn.

The game consists of eliminating one team to another, throwing a medium-sized ball against a player from the opposite team, without stepping on the lines, trying to hit his body. All the players constantly move in their field and pass the ball until one decides to throw it to an opponent who, in order to avoid being eliminated by the touch of the ball, is also in continuous movement, without leaving his field. If he is eliminated, he will go to the opposite field and will be behind the line of the same field, but he will continue playing, waiting for his teammates to pass the ball to him. When you catch it, you will approach the field line so that you can launch with more precision. If you touch an opponent, it returns to its origin field (see image below left)

Rules

This game has several rules which stand out.

Game of the dodge ball

  • If a player throws the ball to an opponent to try to eliminate it but the latter catches it in the air, he can return it trying to eliminate another.
  • The game will last until all players on a team are eliminated.
  • If they throw the ball at you and hit you and then hit the ground, you are momentarily eliminated and go to the jail side. You will have the right to restart the game from prison (being able to save yourself).
  • If the ball is thrown at you and you catch it without it touching the ground, whoever threw the ball at you is momentarily eliminated and will have the right to restart the game from their jail (being able to save themselves).
  • If someone from a jail hits someone from the opposing team with the ball and then the ball touches the ground, the battered player goes to jail (which corresponds to him) and the pitcher is saved and returns to his field.
  • It is allowed to pass the ball between the boss of a group to the prison of the same group, as long as those of the opposing team do not intercept the ball.
  • If you hit someone on your team with the ball, it is not eliminated.
  • If the ball hits after bouncing on the ground, nothing will happen.
  • When all members of a team are in jail, they will have 3 throws (total and maximum) to hit a member of the opposing team who is not in jail and save one of its members and continue the game.
