Persantin is a remedy for heart problems, being an antianginal, platelet aggregation inhibitor and coronary vasodilator. This medicine, the active ingredient of which is dipyridamole, may be administered orally or through a vein.The use of this medicine should only be used as directed by the cardiologist and must be purchased at the pharmacy with a prescription.
Indications
Persantin is indicated for stroke, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, thrombosis and embolism.
Mode of use
Persantin use depends on the doctor’s indication, and in tablet form the daily dose is usually between 75 and 100 mg 4 times a day and the drug should be taken one hour before meals or two hours later. In the case of injectable is indicated 10-20 mg 1 or more times a day, applied by a nurse in the vein.
Side Effect
Some side effects include angina pectoris, diarrhea, headache, weakness, nausea, pressure drop, redness of the face and dizziness.
Contraindications
Persantin use is contraindicated in pregnancy, breast-feeding and children under 12 years of age.
