Use of cinnamon in the kitchen

Cinnamon is widely used in the kitchen, both for preparing savory dishes and for sweet dishes. As we did for the red vine we recommend some dishes that you can simply prepare and amaze your guests.

  • Cinnamon orecchiette

Ingredients: 350gr of orecchiette, 50gr of butter, 50gr of grated Grana Padano cheese and cinnamon.

We put on the fire a pot with water to cook the pasta. When it has reached a boil we throw the pasta and go up. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a pan and add a little chopped cinnamon. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and pour it into the pan with butter and cinnamon and let it sauté. We pour into the plates and sprinkle the Grana Padano cheese.

  • Pear cake with cinnamon scent

Ingredients: 600gr of pears, 2 eggs, 250ml of milk, 60gr of brown sugar, a knob of butter, 40 gr of flour, a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, nutmeg, 2 cloves, a lemon , 3 spoons of pear schnapps, icing sugar and a pinch of salt.

We peel the pears and cut thin slices. In a bowl we put the slices of pears with the grated lemon peel and lemon juice. We beat the eggs with the sugar until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Add the flour, salt, milk and all the spices to the egg and sugar mixture and mix well until everything is well blended. After buttering an oven dish, arrange the pears and pour the dough over them. We cook in a preheated oven for about an hour at 180 °. When there are ten minutes to the end of cooking, we pour the pear schnapps on the cake and put it back in the oven. When cooked, take it out of the oven and let it cool. Before serving, sprinkle with icing sugar.

  • Cinnamon liqueur

Ingredients: 30gr of cinnamon stick, 500ml of pure alcohol, 700ml of water, 400gr of sugar, an orange.

In an airtight jar we put the alcohol and the chopped cinnamon. Then add the peeled orange peel and leave to macerate for three weeks. Remember to shake well every day. After three weeks in a saucepan, add water and sugar and bring to a boil. Let the syrup cool down and filter the cinnamon alcohol. Pour the syrup and cinnamon alcohol into a bottle and let it sit for about 10 days before drinking it.
