Chivalry Vanguard Class 2

The Vanguard class in Chivalry 2 is primarily designed for players who love fast combat. With this class, you have max health of 130, speed of 120, and 100 stamina.

With these stats, it’s pretty easy to dodge and make quick retaliatory cuts. Vanguard is considered the most powerful class, but also the most difficult. Only skilled players can take advantage of this class because even his skill, Leaping Strike, can be difficult to master.

Vanguard Subclasses

The Vanguard class in Chivalry 2 has three main subclasses. These are Raider, Ambusher, and Devastator. Let’s take a look at these subclasses before moving on to the best weapons for the Vanguard class.

Raider

The Raider subclass is specifically intended for players who know the best weapons for different classes. This is because the Raider subclass gives you the facility to carry two main weapons. It will be easier for you to fight the right opponent with the right weapon.

Another of the main benefits of the Raider subclass is the ‘War Horn’, also known as Trumpet, which is given to you to regenerate the health of your companions. This ability in the Raider subclass is what really makes her optimal for use as a support player.

A two-handed hammer can be useful against individual targets, especially during team fights. Due to its speed, the glaive constantly harasses the enemy and is effective.

Devastating

The Devastator subclass gives you the unique strength to wield a heavy two-handed weapon without affecting your movement speed. A Battleaxe is an optimal option, as it allows you to kill enemies in a wider radius. You can also use the Maul to shoot most enemies.

Additionally, you can also have an oil pot that you can toss and ignite to spread fire damage everywhere.

The only deficiencies in this class are the secondary weapon and health. You can only have a knife as a secondary weapon and your health is also significantly lower than other subclasses. But if you manage to use your strengths correctly, you can spread the appropriate devastation using this class.

Ambushed

The Ambusher class is a bit inspired by the Raider class. You can carry two sets of secondary weapons and a 35% bonus damage bonus for attacking opponents from behind!

This makes it a bit tricky for players to select the proper weapons. But, if you manage to pull off the right combination of primary and secondary weapons, you can deal good damage even while keeping your distance.

To do this, the optimal thing is to have a dagger to stab or a short sword to kill enemies faster. You can also have throwing knives to kill enemies from a distance, as well as the ability to reload your tents!

Certainly, the Ambusher class should only be used by those fast-paced players who like to keep attacking all enemies simultaneously. If you start fighting a single enemy without much movement, this class will make you vulnerable. So just hit one and switch to another, go back to the previous one after a moment and hit another. This is how you get to continue with this class.

Better weapons

Since the Vanguard class is all about speed, endurance, and agility; Better to go for weapons that deal a good chunk of damage even with lighter hits.

To do this, the following weapons could be the best for Vanguard Class:

Glaive – War Scythe

Glaive proves to be a great weapon for the Vanguard class, not only dealing a lot of damage, but also allowing you to stay at a significant distance from enemies. Although Glaive deals relatively less damage than other Vanguard weapons, it is best for distant hits and hit-and-run scenarios.

You must understand the physics of this weapon in order to use it effectively. Since 80% of its part is a wooden handle, it deals little damage if you go through that part. Therefore, you will need to focus your attacks through the front of the 20% sharp metal edge that will actually deal adequate damage.

Executioner’s Ax

You have a wide variety of Axes available, the Executioner’s Ax, the Decapitating Ax and the Bow Ax are on top of them all. The Executioner’s Ax syncs with Vanguard’s abilities perfectly, specifically Vanguard’s long jump.

The only downside to this weapon is that you will have to focus your attacks through the tip of the ax. You will also need to learn the proper distance required for this ax. This is because you cannot hit from afar nor can you be too close and expect the sharp part of the weapon to hit the enemy.

Maul – Maulnir

You can use Maul, Maulnir, or Spiked Maul very efficiently using the Vanguard class. The best thing about using Maul is that you can trust him even while keeping a small distance from enemies.

Although his short-range strikes aren’t that destructive, his long-range attacks can actually do some serious damage, especially when you take longer to hit him.

The great thing about using Maul with the Vanguard class is that it syncs perfectly with Vanguard’s Leaping Attack ability. It even has the ability to crush the enemy’s head and the giant hammer face gives you better precision to your hits.

Two-Handed Hammer – Nadzjak

Nadzjak or the Two-Handed Hammer is considered one of the deadliest Vanguard weapons. This weapon is so powerful that it can shoot many enemies and archers.

The only weak aspect of the two-handed hammer is its long grip. It is made of wood material with leather strips on top. The grip is too light and causes minimal damage. Therefore, you should always try to hit the enemies with the hammer.

The great sword

The Great Sword is, without a doubt, the best Vanguard weapon. It is a two-handed weapon that sticks out to reach the enemy rear. The great thing about the Greatsword is that, unlike other weapons, it deals significant damage no matter which part of the sword is used.

It’s equally sharp from top to bottom and a single slashing blow can hit many enemies. You can use it to knock, slash, or fly over enemies just like all other weapons, but only with increased damage.

The only downside to the Greatsword is that it deals slightly less damage to armored enemies.

Vanguard Class Tips and Tricks

Forget chivalry

Chivalry, in literal terms, is in fact a code of honor for Knights. Since you are a Vanguard and not a Knight, you do not need to follow these codes and morals. So focus your attacks on the enemies attacking from the sides and from behind. Vanguard is the most damaging class, so be sure to fulfill that duty of yours whenever possible.

Beware of archers

There will always be some archers hiding somewhere on the enemy team. They will continue to attack the highly concentrated side of the battle. The best way to deal with them is to sneak up on them and take them by surprise.

Stay close

Since most Vanguard class weapons are optimal for short ranges, you should try to stay as close to enemies with the weapon as possible. However, remember that some weapons, including axes and hammers, do minimal damage at close range due to their wooden handle.

Use subclass skills

You have at least one amazing ability related to each subclass in item form. For example, the Devastator subclass has Oil Pot. Make the most of these items and, most of all, spread some fiery fires with the oil pot.
