When is a cheque said to be ‘ dishonoured ” ?

A cheque is said to be dishonoured when the banker on whom it is drawn refuses to pay the amount because
he has not sufficient funds in his hands belonging to the drawer to meet it. A person whose cheques are likely
to be dishonoured is always notified by the bank when such an occurrence is likely to happen.
