Positive characteristics of patients with autism

It is true that autism compromises the individual in his or her common development. However, there are some positive characteristics of patients with autism. Although many have motor and intellectual difficulties, most patients find it easy to learn visually .

What is the treatment for autism?

As it is a permanent condition, the person with autism  must be accompanied at all stages of his life . And for each stage there are many treatment alternatives.

Until the age of two, it is essential that the child goes through the speech therapist, as this professional will help him to develop a non-verbal language. During treatment, the child is involved in training that involves playing, games and play activities.

Are there levels of autism impairment?

There are three levels of autism impairment. The first level is when the child has little interest in socialization. The second level is marked by a profound deficit in social interactions and the last and third is that in which children already experience difficulties in communicating verbally and non-verbally.

Autistic takes medicine?

Some patients are prescribed to take certain medications. However, only a doctor can indicate its use.

It is important to emphasize that family members or people close to the patient with autism can never medicate the patient on their own.

Doctors intervene with remedies in specific cases of irritability, aggression, anxiety, mood swings, hyperactivity, impulsivity, outbreaks, difficulty sleeping and anger attacks.

Therefore, do not look for alternative ways to treat an autistic patient if they are not indicated by the doctor,  especially those that involve natural medicines or medication.

The best way to help treat a person with autism is to know their limitations and respect their space, whenever possible maintaining some social interaction without disrespecting the patient’s limits.

People with Autism Spectrum Disorder should be included in the traditional school. However, the educational center must have a structure to stimulate individual skills.

How should an autistic person feed?

An autistic person’s diet should be as natural as possible. Escape the calorie menus, rich in sodium and fat.
