the beginning
She was born in Jerusalem , Israel on June 22, 1939 . He received his doctorate from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and completed postdoctoral studies at MIT and Carnegie Mellon University . He founded in 1970 the only protein crystallography laboratory in Israel , which completely opened the way for the future in his country . Between 1986 and 2004 he directed the Max Planck Research Units for Genetic Molecular Structure in Hamburg , Germany .

Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Cryobio-crystallography introduced a new technique , in which the crystals are cooled with nitrogen in a diffraction apparatus, thus maintaining crystallographic integrity. For which she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009 .
