characteristics

D-002 (Abexol) is an isolated and purified natural product of beeswax (Apis mellifera), consisting of a well-defined mixture of primary aliphatic alcohols. It has previously been shown that this product has an antiulcer effect, from the protection of the gastric mucosa in ulcers induced by various agents with a cytoprotective mechanism.

D-002 (50 to 400 mg / kg) reduced the ulcer area in a dose-dependent and statistically significant manner, producing protection from damage at doses of 200 and 400 mg / kg of 45 and 54%, respectively. The effects induced by D-002 at 200 mg / kg were comparable to those of cimetidine , a known H2 receptor antagonist, at the same dose, although the efficacy of cimetidine was higher, since at 400 mg / kg it was observed a greater inhibition of the development of the duodenal ulcer (76%). The mechanism of duodenal ulcers is highly acid-dependent, which is why higher doses of D-002 were necessary to observe said protection. The results show that oral administration of D-002 at high doses (200 and 400 mg / kg) protects the gastric mucosa fromcysteamine-induced duodenal ulcers , suggesting potential value for therapy

D-002 (Abexo) is a natural mixture of primary aliphatic alcohols isolated and purified from beeswax ( Apis mellifera ). In previous work, oral administration of D-002 (25 to 100 mg / kg) has been shown to inhibit gastric ulcers induced by ethanol (60%), aspirin (300 mg / kg) and indomethacin (30 mg / kg), as well as those induced by pylorus ligation and by stress (immobilization and immersion) .1,2 The results indicate that the antiulcer action of D-002 is mediated by a cytoprotective effect of the gastric mucosa, which produces changes in the quality and amount of gastric mucus secretion, as well as by an antioxidant action.3-5 However, duodenal ulcers occur more frequently than gastric ulcersTherefore, an antiulcer agent that presents an optimal efficacy profile must be effective in the healing of duodenal ulcers. Despite the variety of models.

According to studies carried out, the product protects the body from so-called oxidative stress, an essential factor in the development of aging and the diseases associated with this degenerative process. It also prevents damage to the gastric mucosa induced by different agents. In the preclinical general toxicology tests performed, Abexol has shown absence of toxicity associated with its use in both the short and medium terms. The nutritional supplement is marketed by Dalmer Laboratories, of the National Center for Scientific Research (CENIC) …

Composition

Contains 50mg of a natural blend of higher primary aliphatic alcohols.

Indications

It is indicated as a supplement to the diet, which allows to satisfy the particular needs of certain individuals who have special physiological conditions and (or) alterations in their assimilation and metabolism processes. According to studies carried out, the product protects the body from so-called oxidative stress, an essential factor in the development of aging and the diseases associated with this degenerative process. It has a cytoprotective effect on the gastric mucosa so it can be used in the treatment of gastro-duodenal ulcers.
