Companies are like systems, that is, they have several interconnected parts in a specific way, thus creating a stable and efficient basis for achieving characteristic objectives and meeting their goals.

In this way, the operating systems of the companies must, in a convenient and strategic way, take advantage of all the resources that the interior and exterior provide in terms of information that is of interest to the company.

Systems are essential for companies , they have the same importance of strategic planning in companies to be successful, since they are basically established to help increase the possibilities and speed to achieve success.

What is a company and how are companies classified?

A company is a group of people organized by various human, material and technical elements that uses third-party financing, or its own , to carry out certain commercial and industrial activities, or service activities to achieve some commercial or economic benefit.

The classification of companies is quite simple. According to their economic movement, they are classified into three sectors, the primary sector , those that obtain their resources from nature, such as fishing, agricultural or livestock companies.

Secondary sector , these are in charge of transforming goods, such as construction companies and the tertiary sector , they are those that provide the service directly to consumers, such as tourism or trade companies.

According to its legal constitution . Here we have the individual or sole proprietorship, when the owner is a single person. And corporate companies, where the owners are several people who share their obligations, benefits and responsibilities.

Based on its size . Large companies, medium-sized companies, small companies and micro-companies. And we can also classify them according to the title of their capital , and they would be public, private, mixed and self-managed companies.

Business information systems

Also known by its acronym as SIE, they are the resources available to the company to support the basic procedure of the search, transformation and communication of the information collected through different methods. The information systems of companies must provide useful information and do this with the fewest possible resources.

The business information system has to be truly adapted to the needs of the business . All of these always start with some type of information, so when you think about an implementation, you always start with the information base that you already have.

Basically, business information systems are in charge of looking for information either from internal or external sources and processing the data obtained, that is, dividing the information that is really useful and discarding the information that is not, in order to distribute them to users in the most efficient way possible with the use of fewer resources.

The mission of these is to collect the greatest amount of data and information that is of interest to the company, usually they use for this, solid resources such as computers or applications, such as WhatsApp Business to communicate with the company’s clients, however, it is very common to do this search through more traditional and informal means such as talking meetings.

Currently there are several types of business information systems that are, the transaction procedures system , this type of system is based on collecting and processing information on company operations and commercial transactions, the use of spreadsheets is indispensable in this system. The administrative information system , this is responsible for providing information of interest about the organization.

Executive support systems , is a type of key system to extract information that helps to achieve the goals of the company.

Decision support systems , its technique is to combine and analyze the data and information obtained.

Group decision-making support systems , is the exchange of information between colleagues from the same group to make joint decisions including the best ideas to innovate in the human resources area of companies.

Expert support systems for decision-making , is the knowledge of information in specific areas and then act as experienced consultants.
