History
The origin of Puyuhuapi begins around 1930 in the town of Rossbach (currently called Hranice and located in the Karlovy Vary region of the Czech Republic ) in the former Czechoslovak Sudetenland region, then populated by inhabitants of German origin . The businessman Robert Uebel decided to finance an emigration project to Chile, in which Otto Uebel, Karl Ludwig, Walter Hopperdietzel and Ernesto Ludwig participated. Motivated by the adventurous spirit and the fear of war , these four young men left for Chile. Here they met the explorer Augusto Grosse who helped them found Puyuhuapi in 1935 .
Casa Ludwig was built by Ernesto Ludwig, a member of the first groups of German settlers in the town of Puyuhuapi. The building was designed based on the local adaptation of the so-called fachwerk, a typical construction system of Bohemia , the place of origin of the Ludwig family.
