History
The Peters House was built in 1925 as the residence of the farmer Alberto Peters Hotts, a descendant of Germans , located in front of the Plaza 21 de Mayo, in the Río Bueno sector.
Three generations of the family lived in the house, until in 2008 it was sold by the grandchildren of Mr. Alberto Peters to the municipality of Río Bueno, to house the Municipal Public Library. For the fitting out of the property, some minor interventions were carried out, preserving the original image, such as interior subdivision partitions and a universal access ramp.
Architecture
The property has two levels and a basement , as well as a gabled roof, with an L-shaped floor plan. It is built with native wood from the area and has exterior cladding of metal plates on the walls and roof.

On January 29, 2015, the building was declared a National Monument of Chile, in the category of Historical Monument, through Decree No. 36 of the Ministry of Education.
