While both MIUI and, especially, the new HyperOS , are very complete systems full of useful features, advertising in the system is still a pending issue for the company. This advertising can be a nuisance for us, the users, but fortunately there are ways to get rid of it.
By just changing a few settings in the system we can forget about those annoying ads . It doesn’t even take two minutes to make these changes, and by doing so the experience has improved considerably in my day to day life: now I enjoy my Xiaomi mobile and all its possibilities, without suffering from the presence of advertising.
Change these settings to forget about advertising on your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO mobile
What we need to do to combat advertising on our devices is to deactivate or disable a series of system settings, which are in charge of managing advertising. This can be done in both MIUI and HyperOS , so no matter what phone you have, you will be able to follow these steps.
Our biggest “enemy” is an element called msa , a service in charge of managing ads in the system. This element cannot be disabled, but we can disable it with two quick settings, there is no need to install anything.
First, we follow these steps :
- Let’s go to the System Settings menu
- We access Fingerprints, facial data and screen lock
- Next, click on Authorization and revocation
- In this screen we look for ‘ msa ‘ and deactivate it
In this way, we are going to revoke the permissions for this element to work properly. Now, we are going to disable its notifications. To do so, follow these steps :
- We go to the Settings menu and enter the Applications section
- Select ‘Manage applications’ and tap on the three-dot button in the top right corner. Now, select ‘ Show all applications ‘
- In the search bar, we search for msa
- Finally, click on Notifications and deactivate the ‘Show notifications’ option.
After following these steps, we have now disabled the settings related to advertising on your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO mobile . The ads will decrease dramatically, in my case, they have practically disappeared completely.
- We hold down on the home screen and select Settings
- Next, click on ‘More’ and in this menu deactivate the ‘Show suggestions’ option.
After following these steps, as explained in Xataka Móvil , we will not see advertising in the Launcher either , which may occasionally suggest installing applications or other recommendations.
