How to fix “This person is not available on Messenger”

Communication has become much easier since instant messaging has been used. With just a few taps, you can message anyone with an online presence anytime, anywhere in the world. Facebook Messenger provided us with this exact service where you can send messages to people we don’t even know if we feel the need to get to know each other. However, there were times when errors such as “message not sent or person is not available at this time” were encountered. Your remaining option is to click OK.

Some of the users also get a message like ‘This person is not available’ in the Messenger app and it is usually seen on iPad, iPhone and other phone devices. Have you been getting this same message through the app?

Let’s take a look at the ways to fix this!

How to fix “This person is not available on Messenger.”

Here are some solutions, through which you can eliminate the annoying message and finally be able to send messages to that specific person without any problem.

Solution 1: send them a Facebook message request

One way to contact this person directly is by sending a new message request directly from Facebook. The user will now have the option to accept the request and can then start a new conversation with you.

Solution 2: make sure to block the user

Another reason you were seeing this unavailable message is when you blocked that other person. This is where you won’t be able to communicate with them either. Here are the steps you can take to achieve this:

  1. Go to your Facebook account and touch the Menu option.
  2. Now navigate to the Settings option.
  3. Choose Account Settings.
  4. Now scroll down and tap lock.
  5. Now see the users listed under Blocked.

If you see the name on the blocked list, go ahead and tap the unlock button. Now you can send them messages.
