Time of Troubles: Walkthrough – All Story and Side Quests

After launching, in the main menu you can select a new game or go to the training camp. In the latter case, you will be able to try only those classes and weapons that you have already unlocked in one of the previous runs of “Time of Troubles”. The same situation with amulets and artifacts.

Next, when starting a new game, you will have to choose one of the three proposed difficulty levels:

— Easy difficulty level. For those players who want to enjoy the story and not experience any special problems. Enemies act weaker than usual, attack less aggressively, it will be easier for you to act stealthily, and there will be an abundance of resources in the area.

— Normal difficulty level. For those players who are ready for challenges of varying difficulty. Normal enemy strength, standard enemy aggression, no concessions in stealth mode, standard amount of resources in battle.

— High difficulty level. For those players who want to challenge themselves! Opponents are stronger and more aggressive, you are easier to detect, lack of resources in battle.

The most important thing is that there are no achievements in the game related to completing it on a specific difficulty level. At any time, by opening the pause menu, you can switch to the desired difficulty.

Controls and Tricks

— The WASD keys are used for movement. By default, the main character moves at a slow, walking pace. If necessary, the pace can be increased by pressing the Shift key.

— To enter stealth mode, press the C key. In stealth mode, you can move faster than usual by holding down Shift. As far as I can tell, the noise level in stealth mode is the same whether you hold down Shift or not.

— To summon a horse, you need to press the X key. It is also used to dismount. The horse is used exclusively for accelerated movement around the partially open game world. The horse will disappear as soon as enemies appear. You can also gallop (holding down Shift) only outside of cities, settlements, villages and camps. Inside these locations, it is best to walk with Shift held down. As far as I can tell, this way Yuri moves a little faster than on a horse, which is forbidden to gallop. The first time you summon a horse, you will receive the achievement “The worn saddle creaks.”

— During combat, the following keys are used: LMB for a light attack, RMB for a heavy attack (one-handed or two-handed melee weapons), F to fire a pistol, musket, or throw an axe, depending on Yuri’s current class. The V key is used to switch between one-handed and two-handed melee weapons. Characters of all classes have both. — The “Space” key allows you to set a block, and through it you can also dodge to the sides (“Space” + A/D), parry blows (“Space” + S) or kick the enemy with your foot (“Space” + W).

— To find interaction points, of which there are not many in the game, you can use Yuri’s intuition, which works like a witcher’s sense. In this mode, characters associated with tracked quests, chests, and vats of water are highlighted. After drinking water for the first time (I’m not sure, but perhaps you need to drink it during your first visit to Kruchina’s estate), you will receive the Life-Giving Water achievement. To turn on intuition, you need to press the Q key. To turn it off, either wait a bit or press the Q key again. By default, you can use intuition outside of combat, when Yuri is moving on foot. Later, you will receive an artifact that, when activated, will allow you to use intuition while riding a horse.

— Understand the system of artifacts and amulets as soon as possible. At first, everything seems difficult, but later you will understand without any problems: amulets are installed in diamonds, and artifacts in circles. Both slots can be unlocked for 1 development point. You get development points for each new level of Yuri, earning honor points (analogous to experience points) for completing quests and killing enemies. Amulets are divided into several types, and can be installed in cells of the corresponding color. Artifacts are unique items that never repeat each other. At the same time, you have 8 branches for artifacts with 5 pieces in each, but you can install no more than two. And for this you need to unlock the round slots of a specific branch.

— As for the classes for Yuri, which are called images in “Time of Troubles”, there are only 5 of them. The fifth is a reward, and you will be able to choose it only when you play through the game again (it was not unlocked for me until the end of the first run). In general, these classes are more or less the same in the sense that Yuri will have approximately the same types of weapons. Yes, the horse and Yuri himself will look different, but the costumes from the classes do not affect defense or anything else. Although no, they do: there are several factions in the game, and depending on Yuri’s clothes, they will treat you differently. So, Yuri-shish will not be attacked by bandits until he attacks them first.

— The T key — get the torch. At the same time, with the torch in his hands, Yuri can only use a small dagger, which is not marked anywhere (perhaps this is a one-handed melee weapon that Yuri uses without a torch). At the same time, you cannot shoot from a firearm or throw a throwing axe.

— Pay attention to the system of Grace and Honor. You will receive certain points depending on how you behave with different characters. I can’t say whether they are interchangeable or not, since I was unable to get either achievement associated with them. Most likely, you need to try to make decisions on one specific branch. For example, at first I recommend talking politely to characters, not insulting anyone and choosing the lesser evil of the lesser (even if it is clear that both phrases lead to the beginning of the fight, choose the softest one). In this case, you will be able (probably) to gain the maximum level of Grace, and get the achievement “Grace”. The second time (if you decide to do this) you should be as rude as possible, and then, having gained the maximum level of Wrath, you will get the achievement “Fierce devil”. — Why isn’t experience being awarded? There is a strict level limit for each location. Thus, once it is reached, you will stop receiving honor points for both quests and killing enemies.

Prologue

Old people used to say that our land had never been so bad as during the Time of Troubles. The line of the Terrible Tsar died out. A terrible famine struck the entire state. The farmers died, the warrior nobles became impoverished, the boyars looked at each other like wolves. And everyone cursed the new Tsar Boris. The whole land easily believed the impostor – Grishka Otrepiev, who called himself Tsarevich Dmitry. And although Grishka did not reign for long, from his arrival the whole land was plunged into civil strife. There was no peace for anyone. Who to believe and for whom to fight – everyone decided for himself.

The Russian land was flooded with Poles and Cossack robbers. The new Tsar Vasily Shuysky was shaking with fear in Moscow, and the troops of the next rebels were stationed near Moscow. The state had only one hope. A glorious warrior, Prince Mikhail Skopin-Shuisky, was marching from Novgorod to Moscow, and the Poles and rebels fled from his regiments. But his star did not shine for long – the prince was poisoned at a feast because of the envy of Tsar Vasily. And without Skopin, Hetman Zholkevsky, who came to take the Smolensk land, smashed us to smithereens. The boyars became despondent, Tsar Vasily was overthrown, and the Polish prince Vladislav was called to the throne. And the Poles began to rule over the boyars in the Kremlin in Moscow. But not all of the Muscovite state submitted to them. Here and there militias arose to drive foreigners out of the country. But who would overcome whom was not clear then. In the harsh winter of the seventh year of the Time of Troubles, a man who was destined to greatly help save our kingdom made his way through the snowstorm. But no one knew about it yet.

Through the snow

After the introductory cutscene, you will control the main character, Yuri, who will hear a voice calling for help. Take the torch by pressing the T key and move forward to the fork, where you will find a dead horse. By the way, right now you can use intuition by pressing the Q key, and the horse will be highlighted in yellow. There is nothing interesting here, so you do not need to turn off the main path. Move towards the voice to the right side of the horse. Eventually, a cutscene will start, and Yuri will scare off the wolves and the bear from the Cossack Kirsha. You will receive the achievement “Cossack on the Tree”. Talk to Kirsha, then follow him until you return to Alexey and the horses. When Yuri says that Kirsha will go with you, follow to the right side across the bridge until the cutscene starts. Talk to the innkeeper, who will let you spend the night. The first duel

Talk to Kirsha inside the tavern, and you will automatically find yourself outside. Here your first duel may begin, but at the same time the additional quest “The Inn” will be activated . This is a fairly simple mission that advises you to talk to various NPCs in settlements. In fact, you will only talk to some of the many characters in different cities and villages, and most of them are related to story quests. So, talk to the old priest, the merchant and his servant, you will complete this simple mission, receiving 25 experience points. Then talk to Kirsha and fight against the Cossack in your first battle.

Here are the keys and buttons used to control battles:

— LMB is used for light attack, RMB for heavy attack (one-handed or two-handed melee weapon), F for pistol, musket or axe throw depending on Yuri’s current class. V key is used to switch between one-handed and two-handed melee weapons. All classes have both.

— The “Space” key allows you to set a block, and through it you can also dodge to the sides (“Space” + A/D), parry blows (“Space” + S) or kick the enemy with your foot (“Space” + W).

– Using the mouse wheel you can capture targets (click) or switch to other targets after capturing the first one (rotate the mouse wheel).

After successfully winning the fight, talk to Kirsha again. At this point, the Poles will enter the inn. During the conversation, you will have the opportunity to choose between Mercy and Wrath for the first time, which will affect Yuri’s character later on, but will not affect the storyline or any particular task. The answer options clearly demonstrate the differences between the approaches: one expresses anger, and the other – a more polite position of Yuri. Regardless of the option chosen, you will still have to defeat the Poles in another fight. Use the hints indicated above, and then talk to Kirsha. The prologue will end, and you will go to the Kruchina estate.

Borrowing

First day at the Kruchiny estate

From this point on, magpies begin to appear. When examining the courtyard, you can notice the first magpie in the far right corner. If you follow it, you will find a chest located a little further from Grigoriy’s position, with whom you need to talk as part of the current story quest. The chest contains a small agility potion, which slightly speeds up the recovery time of dodge by 15 seconds. After these actions, you can meet Grigoriy and begin a training battle. For successfully completing the battle, you will receive 150 experience points and your first artifact – Tsar’s Gold (warrior). This artifact inflicts significantly more damage from a light attack by Yuri the warrior on an enemy with a full supply of health points. In addition, you will earn the achievement “My precious”. Very soon, most likely after the training battle with Grigoriy, you will receive your first level up and your first development point. I recommend spending it on unlocking a round slot along the warrior’s path in order to immediately place the recently obtained artifact “Tsar’s Gold” in it. This location also has the first well, which is displayed on the map with a corresponding icon. In most cases, there will be no well in the specified place, but there is always a glass of water that restores all health points. By drinking water directly from this glass, you will receive the achievement “Life-giving water”. Follow Prokhor and talk to him on the story quest. To fully complete the current quest, it is enough to talk to Grigory again, but first you can complete the additional task received from Prokhor. I described it below, after this mission. Now return to Grigoriy to receive a new assignment and a small healing potion. Then follow the marker, crouch by pressing the C key, and eavesdrop on the conversation of two warriors. If the cutscene does not start, move away from the marker, crouch in advance by pressing the C key, and sneak up to the desired place again without standing up to your full height. This process must be done with three pairs of soldiers, and then you should return to Grigoriy. The task will be completed regardless of your choice in the dialogue, that is, you can either cover the soldiers or give them up completely. In any case, you will earn 100 experience points. Then go to the boyar’s house and go to Alyonushka standing nearby. Talk to her. Go inside the house to talk to Nastya and Kruchina in turn. After that, it remains to leave the estate to move to a new location.

“Prokhor’s Request” (additional task)

To find the characters you need more easily, use your intuition or yellow exclamation marks. Be sure to open your journal, go to the “Quests” section and click on the corresponding task to start tracking it. Only then will yellow exclamation marks appear indicating the quest characters. Be careful, because in each dialogue you will need to make a choice that affects Yuri’s anger or mercy. During the conversation with the groom, you will understand that he is the thief. After that, return to Prokhor and make a decision – to hand over the thief or remain silent. This will not affect the main plot, but will probably bring mercy or anger points. In any case, you will receive 300 experience points.

Nizhny Novgorod

Arrival in Nizhny Novgorod

Move forward along the wooden pier and at the fork, turn left first. Follow the shore and numerous piers until you reach the far end. Here, behind the last pier, in the water you can see a chest with a serpentine – an amulet that gives +15% to health if you install it in the diamond-shaped slot. In the same part of the pier, you will find the first guardhouse, the icon of which will appear on the map as you approach. Inside the guardhouse, you can change the time of day from day to night and vice versa, as well as switch between different images (classes) of Yuri, although at the moment you have only one available – a warrior (later – shish, streltsy, mercenary and courtier). Go through the gate to see a cutscene with Minin, the main ally of Prince Pozharsky. Then move to the upper left corner of the map, where the house of the merchant Khariton is located at the exit from the city. Go inside and interact with the man. Leave the courtyard and the quest will be completed, earning you 100 experience points.

Protection from robbers

Go to the Novgorod market square and talk to Dmitry Filatov, who will give you a new quest. As usual, the upper dialogue option will result in receiving anger points, and the lower one – favor. In addition, you will be given a new artifact – the Coachman’s Glove (if you can meet a magpie nearby, its icon will appear on the map). Remember that by following the magpie, you can find a chest with loot. There are 5 such magpies in Nizhny Novgorod. Move to the indicated location and wait until you are noticed and attacked by three bandits. After defeating them in an unequal fight, return to Filatov to complete the quest.

Connections and Favors

Follow the marker and enter the courtyard of the tavern located near Khariton’s house. Vaska Varganov is waiting for you here. Talk to this man to complete the quest and get 50 experience points.

Problematic Mercenaries

Follow the marker to Prokhor Golchin and talk to him about various topics. After that, follow the marker to the nearby yard and engage in conversation with the mercenary leader. Say any words, then fight three enemies. After the cutscene, return to Prokhor Golchin and complete the quest. An unexpected nobleman

Go to Khariton Yeremeyev to get the details of the quest. Then move further along the path, heading towards the exit of Novgorod to find yourself in the woods. Continue moving along the path. You will be able to turn in different directions, all the side ones lead to dead ends with wolves, for killing which you can get additional experience. When you reach the bandits’ camp, fight four opponents who will either attack you on their own or after you attack first. Immediately after this, a cutscene will begin, during which you will meet Irena, Khariton’s messenger. After the cutscene is over, you should return to Yeremeyev using the same path. In the far part of the camp, behind the barn with hay, you will find a chest, inside which lies the Alatyr amulet, increasing damage done by 20%.

Meeting Stremoukhov

A new quest will begin immediately after leaving the location. Follow the marker to the crossroads, then turn right and head to the Stremoukhov estate. Talk to the man, then fight him with sabers. Feel free to use a pistol in combat, as it does not affect anything. After completing the fight, you will receive 200 experience points and will be able to contact Semyon. After talking to him, the quest will be completed.

Monastic affairs

Go to the nearest monastery and talk to Nikodim standing outside. Then go inside the marked building and talk to the head abbot. After that, talk to Nikodim again, whom you saw outside earlier, and head to the nearest village of Nikulskaya. You are asked to meet with the elder, but in fact, instead of him, you will talk to the leader of the bandits. After the conversation, you need to kill three bandits, for which you will receive several experience points. Then talk to the real elder, standing by the fire, on the right side of the battle site. Return to the meeting place with the bandits. If you go the other way, beyond the village, then behind the distant house you will find a chest with a sapphire (+2 to armor). After that, return to the priest and report everything. The quest will be completed, and you will receive a new artifact “Candle from the Trinity Monastery”, which allows Yuri to use intuition while on horseback, and also increases its range. After leaving the building, the quest will be completed and you will receive an additional 100 experience points.

Wolf hunting

Go back and talk to Semyon Stremoukhov. After the cutscene, move forward and fight three wolves that will attack you from behind. For victory, you will receive 15 experience points. Continue moving until you encounter a bear (there is nothing special about this enemy, although, as far as I understand, rare blows can stagger the beast, while the rest will not affect it in any way, and it can attack you at any time). Then talk to Stremoukhov’s wife. You will visit this place later, so follow the marker to return to Nizhny Novgorod. After this, the task will be completed, and you will receive the achievement “So we hunted”. “Raid of the Bandits” (additional task)

Once you return to Nizhny Novgorod after hunting wolves and fighting a bear with Semyon Stremoukhov, a new side quest will appear in your journal. Follow the marker and talk to Porokh Golchin. You will be asked to go to the outskirts of Nizhny Novgorod. You can continue this mission by going to the militia camp in the next story quest “Novgorod Elder”. In the upper left corner, west of Stremoukhov’s estate, there is a yellow exclamation mark (provided you are tracking the quest). It points to the entrance to a cave. After entering the cave and approaching the bridge, you will find the first bandits. Wait for all three to run to your position. Otherwise, if you continue forward and attack the rest, you will have to fight 6-7 bandits at the same time. After defeating the first three bandits, kill the second group and go up to the far part of the cave. At the very end, you’ll find a barrel. Interact with it to set it on fire, then exit the cave. There’s no timer, so you can’t die from the explosion if you linger inside. When you exit the cave, you’ll receive a sapphire, 100 experience points, and the side quest will be complete.

“Funny fights” (additional task)

After returning from the outskirts of Novgorod, where you helped the local monastery and hunted with Semyon Stremoukhov, you will be able to take on a new task. Talk to Vaska Varganov, with whom you already spoke as part of the mission “Connections and Favors”. Talk to this man again, and he will tell you about the local combat arena. Go to the pier and find the arena manager, located on the right side. Talk to them, and three simple one-on-one duels await you. Each time, you need to enter and exit the arena yourself, interacting with the interactive point near the fence. For the first victory, you will receive 35 experience points, for the second – 50, for the third – 100. In addition, after discussing the last, third fight, you will be given an additional 50 experience points and a small stunning potion. Showdown with the Germans

Enter the Novgorod Kremlin and meet with Prince Pozharsky. After that, exit the Kremlin and move forward. Turn into the courtyard on the left side, where the Germans are. Do not rush, as behind a small barn on the right side there is a chest with the Bloodstone amulet (+1 to armor penetration, -10% to visibility). Talk to the leader of the Germans, and then fight the three enemies to earn 50 experience points. After that, return to the Kremlin and report to Pozharsky about the successful completion of the task. When you go outside, you will be asked to follow the militia camp, to the very location where Semyon Stremoukhov’s estate is located. When you move to a new location, the task will be completed.

Novgorod elder

Head south on the map. As you pass by the camp, a magpie marker will appear in the lower village, provided that you have the “Coachman’s Glove” artifact installed. Get to the camp and talk to Minin at the upper tent. Then go down and talk to the voivode to get the Strelets costume and equipment set. As a result, you will unlock your second class! In addition, you will receive the “Sovereign’s Man” achievement. Continue to Desyatsky and talk to him. Then beat the scarecrow with a new one-handed melee weapon. For this, you will receive the Alatyr amulet (+20% damage) and complete the current task.

“City Guard” (additional task)

Earlier, another additional task appeared in the journal. You need to get into the Conception Tower, but if you try to do this as a warrior, the archer will refuse to communicate with Yuri. The guard at the entrance will repeatedly repeat that strangers are prohibited from entering. Be patient, continue the storyline, and soon you will unlock the image of the Archer. Upon returning to Nizhny Novgorod, you will be able to fully complete the task. Talk to Golchin and visit the three marked towers. Near the third (although the tower itself is not there) you will have to kill two bandits. After that, interrogate the survivor and return to Golchin for a reward. As a result, you will receive the Kalkan shield for the Warrior.

For a good cause

Talk to Minin, then go to the lower village and interrogate the merchant Kalashnikov. Remember that magpie from the village? Follow it until it leads you to a chest with a new artifact, “Khan’s Tamga” (the horse constantly gallops at maximum speed). Talk to Kalashnikov, Mosin, and Kalashnikov again. Go to the indicated courtyard, at the very end, on the porch of the house, look for a chest with incriminating evidence inside. Show it to Mosin to learn about Degtyarev’s warehouse. Move along the marker, and when you find yourself at the gate, you will be asked to wait until nightfall. Turn around, go back and look for a guardhouse on the right, where you can change your appearance and time of day. Wait until evening, return to the warehouse territory and kill three robbers. Then spend the night in the guardhouse again and talk to Degtyarev in the warehouse in the morning. After this the task will be completed.

“Goods from Far Far Away” (additional task)

This side quest will appear in the journal after the story quest “For a Good Cause” begins, during which you help the merchant Degtyarev. Return to the village of Vysokaya and talk to Kalashnikov, whom you saw recently. Follow the marker to the north. Along the way, you will have to kill a bear, for which you will receive 100 experience points. Climb to the upper clearing and clear out the bandits’ camp. Apparently, they will attack only after you attack one of them first. It is best to shoot and immediately kill one of the opponents. After the victory, search the chest in the center of the camp to get a scarlet flower. Then return to Kalashnikov to complete the quest and take a new side quest. “Beauty and…” (additional task)

Go to the local monastery and interrogate Nikodim. Then move to the swamps in the lower right corner of the map. Kill all the bandits, at the end of the battle defeat the robber in the skin. After interrogating him, you will learn that the merchant’s daughter was most likely kidnapped by Ataman Maly. Return to Kalashnikov and tell him everything. The task will be completed, and you will receive 100 experience points and the Lal amulet (+20% to weapon efficiency) as a reward. A new quest will begin.

“… and the monster” (additional task)

If you move up the map from the village, you will have to turn right at the second fork. This will take you to another bandit camp. Kill them all and defeat their leader. Then talk to the merchant’s daughter and decide what to do with her. Return to Kalashnikov and tell him everything. As a reward, you will receive 100 experience points and the Alatyr amulet.

Mysterious caves

Talk to Minin in the militia camp, then head to the village in the west. Interact with the well, then talk to the local elder. A marker will appear on the map to the right of the well, indicating a guardhouse. Go inside and wait until evening. Follow the marker, kill two bandits, then get to the third. After defeating him, interrogate him and enter the nearest cave. As you move through the cave, watch the walls and pay attention to the white crosses indicating the corridors with traps. At the first fork, go to the corridor on the right. This path will lead you to a fire with two bandits. After killing them, be sure to restore your health points by drinking water from the nearest cup. Follow the only passage without a cross to find another enemy. If you lose health, I recommend going back and restoring it with a cup of water! Then go to the right side from the place where you killed the third bandit. This path will lead you to a spacious adit with four bandits! After the victory, you will have to leave the cave the same way, so it is extremely important to remember the route. If you fall into a trap and die, you will have to clear the cave again!

Resources for the militia

When you exit the cave, the previous task will be completed and a new quest will begin. Visit Minin in his militia camp, then follow the marker to go in pursuit of the convoy with money. Go forward to get into an ambush, and kill 5-6 bandits. Then follow the left side to leave the location and return to the camp. Talk to Minin to get 150 experience points and complete the task. Monastery treasure

Go to the road between the camp and the outpost to meet the messenger. He will tell you that you are expected at the Stremoukhov estate. Enter the estate, watch the cutscene and talk to Stremoukhov’s wife. Go outside and follow the marker. On the way to the cave, you will encounter a large wolf pack. I recommend not to rush and lure the wolves out several at a time. You can run away and shoot from a gun. Enter the cave, in any case, you need to go to the passage on the right side, in which there is a bear. After defeating the beast, find the treasure and return to Semyon. He will give the treasure to Yuri, which turns out to be the artifact “Conspiracy from bullets and sabers” along the Sagittarius path (by firing from the arquebus, Yuri the Sagittarius replenishes the evasion charge). Go out into the yard to complete the task and get 150 experience points.

Relatives of friends

Talk to Ustinya Stremoukhova standing in the yard and go beyond the location. Go to the burning estate and kill all the bandits. Take the box marked with a marker. You will also receive the Bloodstone amulet. I had a magpie appear in this location, but in reality there was none. Return to Ustinya in the Stremoukhova estate. Regardless of what you tell her, the quest will be completed. You will receive 100 experience points as a reward.

Saving a Muscovite

Go to Minin’s camp, where Prince Pozharsky has arrived, and talk to him. Follow the marker to the designated location west of the camp to talk to the nobleman. Run with Vlasyev to Minin’s camp. You’ll have to kill a couple of enemies along the way. Talk to Vlasyev on the camp’s territory as soon as he stops. The quest will be completed.

Polish agents

After you’ve spoken to Pozharsky in Minin’s camp, return to Nizhny Novgorod. Meet the characters indicated on the map, and after speaking with the Holy Fool, return to the monastery to talk to Father Seraphim in his cell. After that, head to the place where the pilgrim is. Follow him using stealth mode (press C), and try not to get too close. If you get close enough, he will stop and turn around after a few seconds. If he notices you at this point, the mission will fail and you will have to start over. Outside the monastery, you will be attacked by Poles, but you can safely fight them. The pilgrim does not seem to notice this! After dealing with the Poles, follow the pilgrim, who will enter the cave. “Household chores” (additional task)

After you return to Zaimka from Nizhny Novgorod, another side quest will automatically begin. Just talk to the yardman, Alyonushka and Prokhor on all available topics to advance the storyline.

“Lost Toys” (additional task)

After talking to Nastya, who is standing in front of her mansion, you will receive a task: you need to collect the lost dolls. First, go to the right side of the entrance to Kruchina’s mansion and look for the first Yuri doll on the scaffolding in the corner. Then go into the stableman’s pen and find the Nastya doll on the table under the canopy. Finally, go to the left side of the entrance to Kruchina’s mansion, go around the building and find the Kruchina doll on the slope of the rear window with a grate. After you collect all three dolls, return them to Nastya. As a reward for completing the task, you will receive 100 experience points.

The clouds are gathering

After talking to Nastya and Kruchina inside the mansion, you will receive a new task – to go to Yaroslavl on Kruchina’s orders. Once outside, you will activate another side quest.

Yaroslavl

Arrival in Yaroslavl

Continue forward until a new cutscene starts. Then talk to Semyon Stremoukhov and Prince Pozharsky. After that, the task will be completed, and you will receive 150 experience points and the Kazan Seal artifact as a reward, which will help improve relations with the Kruchina serfs and the Cherkassians at the outposts.

Conflicts among Sagittarius

Once you get outside, pay attention to the map. If you have the artifact installed, you will see a magpie icon. Follow it through the city until you find a chest. It may contain another war scythe, despite the fact that you got it earlier. Also inside the city, on the trade street on the right side, you can find a chest with Bloodstone. Follow the marker through a small village with a well. There will be another chest with a yachon on the pier. To open it, you need to go around the houses from the very beginning of the location, starting from the west. After that, enter the militia camp and talk to Vasily Pushkarev. Then go to the rebel commander, who is also in this camp. Use intuition to highlight the tracks on the ground, and follow them until you go outside the camp. The tracks will lead you to the rebel camp. It is important to be in the form of a shooter. Talk to the rebels and choose what to do with them. Also to the right of the militia camp, in the east, there is a magpie marker. Follow it so that it leads you to a chest with a new potion, “Lesser Poison”, which poisons weapons for 15 seconds. After completing these actions, return to the voivode in the camp, talk to him and follow Pozharsky. When you enter his chambers, you will automatically receive a new artifact, “Conspiracy for a Hard Hand”, of the “Distance” path, which allows ranged weapons to cause bleeding with some probability. Difficult Allies

Go outside and follow the signs to the Kazan camp, which is located far to the south. Continue straight down from Yaroslavl, passing through a ruined monastery where you can find healing water. Inside the monastery, climb the scaffolding and find a chest on the bridge on the south side with a new artifact “Water from Uzhinoe Lake” of the “Dagger and Torch” branch (passing by torches in stealth mode, Yuri automatically extinguishes them). While moving towards the objective, you will have the opportunity to go in different directions. For example, to the north of the Kazan camp is Grigori’s camp, located right in the middle of the forest. Visit it to open the chest and get the Serpentine stone. In fact, you will get here later. Once you reach the camp, engage in conversation with Birkin. He will ask for help. Approach the group of Kazanians and interact with them to go on a hike. Continue to complete other story quests described below in the following order: “Fight with the Cherkassians”, “Drunken Truth” and “Supply of Provisions”. After completing the last quest, when you leave Stremoukhov’s house, you will be met by Mikitka, who will tell you about a certain “uncle”. Follow the marker to Grigory’s camp and discuss the current situation with him. This will advance the quest “Difficult Allies with the Help of the Kazanians and Stremoukhov’s Advice to Help Grigory. Continue to complete the following quests: “Help Grigory”, “Kazan Messenger”, “Fox Squad” and “A Lie for the Good”. After completing the last quest, return with Semyon to Pozharsky and report on the events that have occurred. This will complete this long chain of quests, and you will receive 450 experience points.

Fight with the Cherkassians

This task is required to progress in the quest “Difficult Allies”. It will start automatically, in parallel with the quest “Difficult Allies”, when you visit the Kazan camp and go on a hike with them. Move to the camp and follow the left side along the fence, activating stealth mode. You do not need to avoid enemies, but rather the opposite – sneak up on them from behind and commit silent kills. A hint to press the E key will appear. For the first silent kill, you will receive the achievement “Forty-seventh”. Continue to clear the camp, acting stealthily, to earn as many experience points as possible and level up faster. To begin, it is recommended to kill all available enemies, and then interact with the gunpowder barrels marked with a marker. Upon completion of these actions, you will receive the achievement “Made a stir”. It is unclear whether the number of enemies killed stealthily matters and how many Cherkasy remain alive, but in the end, only three enemies attacked me. For successful completion of this quest you will receive a new artifact “Nauz to distract eyes” in the “Dagger and Torch” branch, which makes it more difficult for opponents to detect Yuri, as well as 250 experience points. Drunken Truth

This quest must be completed to advance another main story quest, “Difficult Allies”. It will begin after successfully completing the mission “Fight with the Cherkassians” and is related to the Kazanians. You need to talk to three drunk Kazanians in three different parts of the camp, and then talk to Birkin. Next, you must find Semyon Stremoukhov, who is located in the Ostrog nearby. Note that a magpie marker may appear here. Follow it, and it will lead you to a chest with a potion of agility. After talking to Stremoukhov, you will complete the quest, receive honor points and a new artifact, “Noble Seal”, along the “Warrior” path, which makes the Cherkassians and Poles at the outposts more friendly to Yuri the Warrior.

Provision of provisions

This quest must be completed to advance another main story quest, Difficult Allies. The new story quest will begin after the mission, Drunken Truth. You need to get to the village of Shilovo in the south and talk to Luka Nemov, who is standing in the center of the settlement. The village elder asks you to rid the village of wolves. Continue following the marker outside the village and clear the den of three wolves. After completing the quest, return to the elder and talk to him. As a reward, you will receive a small protection potion, and the quest will be updated. Then you will have to return to Ostrog to Semyon Stremoukhou. Also in the very south of the settlement, there is a magpie icon. Follow it so that it leads you to another chest, which contains a Swedish-made wheel pistol – a new weapon for the Ratnik. Return to Semyon and talk to him to complete the current quest, receiving 200 experience points.

Help Gregory

This task must be completed to advance another main story quest, “Difficult Allies.” After completing the previous mission, but with a short pause, you will be offered to complete this mission as well. According to the quest “Difficult Allies,” you will need to find “the guy” and talk to Grigory. Go to the marker in two villages. The fugitive will not be in Shilovo. Visit Tolikovo, but after talking to the elder, the settlement will be attacked by the Poles. You will have to destroy two enemy groups of three warriors. After the victory, talk to the elder and then return to Grigory with the news. Upon completion of this task, you will receive 300 experience points and a new artifact, “Enchanted Knot,” in the “Items” branch, which allows Yuri to use items more often. Kazan messenger

This task must be completed to advance another main story quest, “Difficult Allies.” It will begin immediately after completing the previous quest. Your task is to reach the marked tavern, where after a cutscene you will be able to talk to the Kazan messenger. After that, fight him in a one-on-one duel and search the horse to get a letter. Take this letter to Grigory. Upon completion of the mission, you will receive 200 experience points.

Fox Squad

This task must be completed to advance another main story quest, “Difficult Allies.” You will receive it immediately after completing the mission “Kazan Messenger.” Go to Ostrog, and in front of Semyon Stremoukhov’s house, you will be stopped by Mikitka again, who will tell you about the old voivode. This conversation will be the beginning of the side quest described below. Follow the marker to Birkin’s camp, talk to him, and then move to the Foxmen’s camp. After defeating the Poles who set up an ambush, take the papers from their table pointing to Birkin. After returning to Birkin, he will explain the plan. As a reward for completing the task, you will receive the Lal stone and 100 experience points. Upon completing all the tasks, the quest will be completed.

“Difficult Neighbor” (additional task)

In my previous post, I described how the current quest would start. You should return to the militia camp and talk to Vasya Pushkarev. Unfortunately, I had a problem completing the quest. It happened like this: when visiting the Cossack camp, I approached the marked table and picked up the evidence. All the task markers disappeared, but the task itself was updated. I needed to tell the voivode that the Cossacks were innocent. I returned to the voivode in the militia camp (where I received the task), talked to him, but the next objective did not appear. As a result, you could talk to the voivode endlessly, but no new objectives appeared, and the current one did not complete.

A lie for the good

To advance in the quest “Difficult Allies”, you must also complete the current task. Start by visiting Grigoriy, who will issue letters. Then you need to throw them into the Kazan camp. It is recommended to wait until evening to make it easier to hide from enemies. You can even stealthily eliminate Kazan to earn additional honor points. After hanging letters in three different places, return to Ostrog to Semyon Stremoukhov.

Letter delivery

Follow the marker to Zarutsky’s hut and go inside. Talk to Ivan Zarutsky, then go to three places in turn, where all the NPCs will be hostile. Do not cause alarm. You can still stealthily eliminate enemies, which will bring you additional experience points. Find three messengers in each camp and give them the letters. After this, the task will update, and you will be asked to return to Zarutsky. Talk to him to complete the task, get a new quest and 200 experience points. “Urgent Repair” (additional task)

Leave Pozharsky at the start of this quest and you will be stopped again by Mikitka, who gave you the previous side quest. Go to the tavern in the south, where you need to talk to the tsar, and then move to the lumberjack camp. Conduct a conversation with the lumberjack and eliminate all the marked wolves. After completing the quest, talk to the lumberjack again, and then return to the tsar in the tavern to complete the quest. As a reward, you will receive the Bloodstone amulet and 100 experience points.

Elimination of Smolyanin

Interact with the nearby chest in Zarutsky’s hut to change into a mercenary and unlock your third look. This will also unlock the “Foreigner” achievement. Go to the specified location and watch the cutscene. After that, attack the nobleman. After winning, you will receive 500 experience points and a new artifact “Sir Tvardovsky’s Ring” along the “Mercenary” path (if the enemy is stunned, Yuri the mercenary’s attack will deal much more damage to him). Then return to the militia camp and go to the tent where you usually rest (“guardhouse” on the map) to watch the cutscene, get 200 experience points and complete the quest. Upon completion, you will find yourself in the militia camp and the quest will be completed. You will receive the “Pawn” achievement.

Letters from Irena

Go to the settlement of Vyselki and head to the lower right corner (on the map) to find the right house. When you enter the corresponding courtyard, Yuri will say that he has arrived at the right place. After talking to the girl, go to the Cossack camp in the west and sneak inside. If necessary, commit silent murders to avoid attracting attention. Cross the road to the indicated place and take the letters from the table. Then return and show them to Irena, and then take them back. Upon completion of the task, you will receive a new quest and 200 experience points.

Free way for Irena

Return to the house in Vyselki, but Mikitka will tell you that Irena has left. Go to the tavern, which is located far to the south and which you have already visited before. Talk to the girl and accompany her to the exit from the location. She will move slowly, so stay close. At the end, four Poles are waiting for you. Destroy all the enemies to get the Serpentine amulet. Then return back to the tavern to meet Filipko. Upon completion of the task, you will receive 250 experience points. Deal with the mercenaries

Enter the Ostrog and talk to Semyon Stremoukhov in his private home. After going outside, you will find yourself in a camp. Go to the hill on the left and find the foreman of the riflemen to work out the strategy for the upcoming battle with him. After that, you will have the opportunity to clear the camp territory in any way you choose. Using an artifact to increase stealth (Nauzes for distraction) and several Bloodstones that simplify stealth, you will be able to move right in front of your opponents, remaining invisible. Thanks to some flaws in the stealth mechanics, especially in terms of enhancements through amulets and an artifact, you can easily get rid of all the mercenaries in the camp without raising the alarm. After completing the task, leave the camp and return to Semyon Stremoukhov in Ostrog to receive the promised reward – the artifact “German Glove”, which, if Yuri the Mercenary is wounded, briefly enhances his ability to inflict increased damage with light blows of the Katzbalger. Upon returning to the house, go to the table to watch the cut-scene.

Assassination attempt

Infiltrate Semyon’s home and discuss important details. After that, you will automatically be transported to the main city of Yaroslavl. Follow forward to watch a cutscene where Semyon Stremoukhov will be killed. Immediately run after the killer in the direction of Vyselki, and right at the entrance to the city you will have to fight him and his two assistants. Upon completion of this mission, you will receive a new item – the artifact “German Potion”, which enhances the effect of poisoning, causing additional damage to affected enemies.

Blessing for the Militia

Move to the Chopped City, go to the palace chambers and enter into a dialogue with Pozharsky and Minin. After leaving the building, you will be offered a new additional task. Within the monastery, find the abbot’s dwelling, go inside and take the Kinglet stone. Talk to the abbot to take a new mission, which is carried out in parallel with the current task.

“Farewell to a Friend” (additional task)

Go to the monastery you visit at the start of the main quest “Blessing for the Militia” and talk to Ustinya Stremoukhova, who is saying goodbye to her husband along with her son. After the conversation, the quest will be completed. Most likely, you can get experience points, but I already reached the maximum level.

Stolen documents

To continue the quest “Blessing for the Militia”, go to the militia in the Streltsy camp, and then move even further to the east. Free this area from bandits. As mentioned earlier, you can act secretly, especially if you installed the most effective artifact “Nauz to distract eyes”, which turns Yuri invisible. After the bandits are defeated, collect important documents and return with them to the monastery to the abbot. This will complete the current task, and at the same time the next one will begin. Yaroslavl bandits

In order to progress in the “Blessing for the Militia” quest, you will need to complete the “Yaroslavl Bandits” quest. The abbot of the monastery will give it to you immediately after completing the previous mission. You will have to go south to the village of Shilovo. I will note that in this section of the game I encountered a technical failure, due to which movement on horseback became impossible starting from the forest zone and further south. In the village, you need to discuss the current situation with the headman of Shilovo, and then go east to the specified bandit camp. I recommend sticking to stealth tactics. After destroying all opponents, pay attention to the chest located on the left side, in which the Alatyr amulet is hidden. After freeing the old man and talking to him, as a reward you will receive a new artifact “Nauz for health”, which belongs to the “Items” category. The main effect of the artifact is that potions of defense, dexterity and accuracy restore part of the health points. After healing at the well, head to the indicated marker to leave the camp and move to a new location located in the forest area.

Fairytale forest

To progress in the “Blessing for the Militia” quest, you will need to complete the “Fairytale Forest” quest. You will receive it immediately after freeing Stepan from the bandit camp, when you move to a new location. You will find yourself in an unexpected place – the Fairytale Forest. Continue moving forward, dealing with the Poles. Pick up the lost documents from the launch and continue moving forward until you come across a hut. Here you will see a cutscene, after which you should go forward and turn right along the path until you reach the source of the noise. Deal with the four wolves, then talk to Irinarkh. The mission will end, but a new task will immediately begin.

Finding yourself

To continue the quest “Blessing for the Militia”, follow the only available path and fight the bear, earning 100 experience points. Then talk to Irinarkh and find the ghost of Yuri. After the dialogue, you will have to fight him. This enemy is quite dangerous, he uses everything that is available to Yuri the warrior. Therefore, try to avoid his attacks and, having moved away to a safe distance, use firearms. After a successful fight, you will receive another 400 experience points. Then talk to Irinarkh again, as a result of which you will receive 1 healing potion and an additional 400 experience points. After this, a new quest will begin. Ancient history

This is the last task, which is connected with the completion of the mission “Blessing for the Militia”. Follow the path located on the right side of the swamps and find the old estate. Clear its surroundings from cannibals and after victory, pick up the cross lying on the ground. Then an old man will appear, with whom you must talk to get an additional reward – a new artifact “Ring of Vseslav the Sorcerer” from the “Warrior” category. This artifact enhances the attacks of the saber and shield of Yuri the warrior when his health is low. After the conversation, a cutscene should start, and Yuri will automatically return to Yaroslavl. If this did not happen, you may have encountered an error. In this case, as was the case with me, you will have to load the save before going to the Fairytale Forest and repeat its passage. It is noteworthy that during the second passage, I did not receive the artifact “Ring of Vseslav the Sorcerer” from Irinarkh. I am not sure what exactly affects its issuance. Returning to the Chopped City, talk to Prince Pozharsky and Minin in the usual place.

Difficult meeting

After starting the cut-scene, which you could have seen in the “leaked” alpha version of the game (Yuri picks up an apple), fight the trio of enemies and talk to your old friend Kirsha. After that, you will get to Kruchina’s estate. Go inside Kruchina’s house (you can talk to Grigory along the way), get the Korolek amulet from the chest on the right side, and then talk to the boyar himself. During the night, Nastya will come to Yuri’s cell. After the cut-scene, the task will be completed, and you will receive 300 experience points.

Escape

There is no need to relax, as you need to act stealthily, get out of the dungeon and leave the estate. Crouch by pressing C, then activate intuition, which will make it easier to track enemies (they will be marked in red). Move behind the houses to the left until the cutscene starts. Follow the marker, avoiding encounters with enemies. Sneaking up and committing a silent murder will not work – Yuri has no equipment! Turn left and immediately turn behind the stables on the right side, where the marker points. Find a secret hole in the middle of the yard. Move forward, guided by yellow footprints that are highlighted when intuition is activated. This way you will get to the Shisha camp, where Kirsha is located. A marker should appear on the map, indicating this place and simplifying its search. Watch the cutscene to complete the task and get the “Partisan” achievement. Shisha camp

Activate intuitions to find a chest with a Lal stone in the Shish camp. After that, you will unlock another image for Yuri. Shish is the same as a robber, and that is why neither the Poles nor the robbers themselves will attack you first. Talk to a skilled Shish, fight him using a new weapon. Instead of a pistol, squeak or musket, you will throw throwing hatchets. For winning the battle, you will be given a new artifact “Nauz for a light hand” on the “Shish” path, which makes Yuri-Shish’s light attacks more effective while the throwing axe is on reload. Thus, each battle in this image begins with an axe throw (of course, if this artifact is installed). After that, talk to three more Shish to complete the quest and get 200 experience points.

Supply of shishas

Head to the settlement of Bolshiye Udoly in the south and watch the cutscene upon arrival in the open courtyard. Clear the village of several bandits who are scattered in different parts of the settlement, and then go to the elder. Go down to the river nearby and eliminate all the bandits (if necessary, you can act stealthily). Take the Bloodstone from the chest and return to the elder. For this you will receive 400 experience points.

Weapons for shishas

Leave the settlement and head north. Along the way, pay attention to the bandit outpost, which you can attack (or pass by as Shish), and look for a magpie there. She will point to a new chest, inside of which lies another one-handed melee weapon for Shish – an axe. Continue north, use the ford across the river in the west. In this area, there is a new village called Burino. Defeat four Poles, and you can start with silent kills. In their camp, there is a chest with a trophy shield, a kalkan, which Yuri-shish uses. After the victory, set fire to the tent. To the north of the camp, you will find a magpie. Follow her to get to another chest. Inside you will find a new artifact, the “Key to the Kudeyar Treasures” from the “Dagger and Torch” category (a silent kill brings more experience points than usual). This is a very useful thing for leveling up. Also, there are swamps in this area, so move carefully, in shallow water (where you can see the land above the water). By the way, I recommend drowning in the swamps at least once to earn the achievement “Oh, my life is tin!”. After that, return to the camp to Kirsha and complete the quest. As a reward, you will receive a new two-handed weapon for the shisha – an iron spear. Be sure to use it instead of the standard weapon, since it does much more damage.

Dangerous Liaisons

Go to the specified location north of the Shisha camp. When you arrive in Mikhailovskaya Sloboda, be careful – you need to get to the tavern stealthily. You can commit silent murders, and the general population will not react to this in any way. Choose the moment to eliminate the enemy on the street on the left side and two enemies near the chest. You can leave the two distant enemies alone. When they are at the other end of the street, sneak up and hide in the yard on the left. Let them go in the opposite direction, and you go to the tavern yard and talk to Prokhor. Then talk to the bandit chieftain and leave Mikhailovskaya Sloboda by any means necessary. Above and to the left (on the map) of Mikhailovskaya Sloboda you can find a magpie. If you follow her, she will lead you to a chest containing a new artifact, the “Witch’s Root,” from the “Items” category (potions and poisons last longer). Take your time! On the nearest road, if you go north, you can find another magpie. She will lead you to a pond and a well-hidden chest containing a new artifact, the “Amulet with Fyodor Stratilates,” from the “Distance” category (ranged weapons reload faster). In the north, next to the magpie and the chest described above, at the crossroads (to the right on the map from the ford across the river leading west), you can meet the Holy Fool. You can reset all your development points through this character. Now return to Kirsha in the Shisha camp and complete the quest, receiving 200 experience points. “Taxation” (additional task)

This quest is activated in parallel with the main quest “Dangerous Liaisons”: in the Kirsha camp, after meeting a Cossack friend at the end of the mission “Weapons for the Shishas”, a messenger should appear. To the north of the Kirsha camp, you can find another magpie. If you follow it, it will lead you to a chest. Inside is a new artifact “Witch’s Flint” from the “Strelets” category (light attacks with a saber reduce the reload time of the squeak). After that, move to the village of Bolshiye Udoly, which you visited earlier, and talk to the headman. Then go to the neighboring yard, after which three Kruchina warriors will appear on the road. Defeat them all and return to the headman for a reward. Then talk to Kirsha in the Shisha camp to receive the Korolek amulet and 200 experience points.

Missing Alexey

This is the next stage of the Teply Stan storyline. At the beginning, you will be approached by a Shish-messenger, through whom you will receive the side mission “Spice Flow” (described below). Get to the secret passage marked with a marker and use it. As a result, you will find yourself on the territory of the Kruchina estate. Crouch down, if necessary, you can stealthily eliminate several enemies to earn additional experience points. Find Alyonushka behind the house, and before that, it is advisable to check the stables, where the chest with the Yakhont amulet is located. After that, talk to Alyonushka, clarify all the details with Nastya, and then leave the estate through the same hole. Once outside, follow the marker to the hunting lodge and defeat two enemies to meet Alexey. After the cutscene, the task will be completed, and you will receive 500 experience points.

“Spice Flow” (additional task)

Go to Mikhailovskaya Sloboda, which you have already visited earlier. In the middle of the central street there is a chest with the Bloodstone amulet. Go to the innkeeper, and then head to the convoy and interrogate the peasants. Clear the bandit camp to the north from the convoy and the Holy Fool, taking with you several bags of spices. After that, return to the innkeeper to complete the task and receive a reward – 200 experience points and a potion of dexterity. “Copper Pipes” (additional task)

This side mission will begin immediately after completing the previous main quest, “Aleksey the Missing,” when the Shish contact contacts you again. Head to the village of Bolshiye Udoly to speak with the village elder, then return to the hunting lodge. There, you will encounter three of Kruchina’s serfs. After eliminating them, speak with the old man and head back along the path to encounter another group of Kruchina’s serfs. Once all the enemies have been defeated, wait a bit and the quest should automatically update. Then return to the village elder to receive your reward: a stun potion and 300 experience points.

Hunter of Kruchina

Simply follow the marker and eliminate three enemies from the Kruchina Human Hunters squad. The task will automatically complete, but a new quest will begin. As a reward, you will receive 260 experience points.

Rescue of the Sagittarius

Reach the marked location. On the way to the target, prepare to repel several enemy attacks by Kruchina’s men and wolves.
