I used my Firefox to search for a word on a web page, but the search bar didn’t show up. I have tried all the keyboard commands and even the internal settings to get the search bar to appear on the web page. But I soon realized that this needs to be fixed, I tried my best and will share with you the guide by which my search bar worked again.
You may need to use the Find in Page feature to quickly find a phrase or word on a web page. To run this feature  you just have to press Ctrl + F on your keyboard and this will open a search bar where you have to enter the text to search for .

But what if this feature doesn’t work?

If your Firefox “Find in Page” is not working, there may be a few problems. Before fixing “Find on Page”, just disable all add-ons in Mozilla Firefox or try updating your browser. You have many more ways to fix it, which I will describe in this article.

On the web page, when I pressed Ctrl + F on the keyboard, the search bar did not appear. I clicked Firefox a few times and then tried the command, still no response. I later did this after a long time fix that resolved the “Find on Page” issue as well as all other things resolved in my Firefox.

In this post, I’ve categorized all the detailed fixes I’ve applied to find a word in Firefox that might help you.

How to fix quick search in Firefox? [Turn on]

If you have seen quick search not working in your Firefox, it may be disabled in your browser. You must change the settings to enable in your browser.
Follow these steps to fix it:

  1. Go to the URL section and type there: about:config in the panel.
  2. Search with ‘typeaheadfind’ to get the exact item.
  3. Now find the parameter accessibility.typeaheadfind.manual in the list and change the value to True.

Remember that if the settings is set to false, just set it to true to enable the search bar in your Firefox.

How to find text on a web page in Firefox?

In Firefox, when you’re trying to find text on a web page, there are two ways you can do it. One – from the keyboard, the other – in the Firefox settings.
To find text in Firefox, do the following:

  1. Open a web page.
  2. Press Ctrl + Fto enable the search bar that will appear in the bottom left corner.
  3. Now enter a search term.

You can also open this search bar from Menu >> Find in Mozilla Firefox.

You will be prompted for 4 types of settings for your Firefox. You can highlight text, match case, or select all word search options.

Fixed: “Find in page” does not work in Firefox.

If you tried the quick fix and the issue is still not resolved, try the following basic checks:

1. Reset Mozilla:

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, you have the option to completely reset Firefox. I reset Mozilla Firefox when I felt a problem with the search on the page.

After resetting Mozilla Firefox, all cookies and cache have been removed from the browser and this improves the mood of the browser and the problem is solved if this problem occurs due to the memory load of your browser.

To reset Firefox, you just need to go to “Settings” and then “Reset” from the menu. Remember that all your saved passwords and files will be deleted from the browser.

2. Disabling add-ons:

Problems I have personally had with add-ons that I added to my Mozilla Firefox and when I uninstalled all add-ons because I couldn’t determine which one was causing the problem preventing the search bar from showing up on a web page.

That’s why I had to disable all add-ons and leave them on my browser and that fixed my issue.

It’s simple, you need to go to the add-ons section from the extension of your Mozilla Firefox and from there remove all the extensions that you have added to your Mozilla Firefox browser.

3. Log out of Mozilla:

Sometimes a problem occurs with the Firefox login account when several add-ons are added to the account, and after removal, some settings remain unchanged.

There may be some personal settings set for your browser account, and as soon as you sign out of this account in the Firefox browser, they will all be reset to their default values.

And it makes Firefox work perfectly. That’s why it can fix your “Find on Page” display in Mozilla Firefox browser.

Your site settings may have disabled fast search in your browser with your account. So, just try exiting firefox and reloading the page, the search-page command might work to search. Definitely, the problem will be solved if the problem occurs with this particular account.

4. Installing the latest version:

I updated not only the add-ons that disappeared, but also Mozilla Firefox to the latest version.

The problem is that if you are using an older version of Firefox, you will be missing many of the features that the website cannot be loaded in that browser. Because of this, some features do not work in this old version of your browser.

Therefore, it is recommended that you update your Firefox browser to the latest version to fix any issues with HTML for websites.

If the problem is related to the search bar, this will probably show up once you have the latest version of Firefox installed on your computer.

5. Third Party Search Extension:

What will you do if you see that nothing works only on a certain web page? Sometimes a set of HTML on a web page prevents the browser from displaying certain features on it and this affects the search bar not appearing on that web page and that is why the third party extension you have to install in your browser as an add-on. .

You will find another third party extension that searches the word on the page for your Mozilla Firefox and you need to add it to its addons section.

Results:

The end is interesting as I want to tell you that check for a keyboard issue by adding an external keyboard if you are using a laptop. Sometimes the Ctrl + F command may not work due to keyboard issues. After confirming this, try the other fixes described in this article. It is better to perform a reset to refresh the browser, which fixes the problem in most cases, and disabling additional add-ons that need to be fixed.
