In a recent update, the developers of Honkai Star Rail decided to introduce us to characters from other ships of the Xianzhou Alliance. We get to know the heroes from Zhuming and Yaoqing Xianzhou. And one of them, Jiaoqiu, also appears in the main event of the patch.
In our article we will talk about who this mysterious fox is and what build to make for him.
About the character
Jiaoqiu is a fox folk healer. He came from Yaoqing Xianzhou with General Feixiao to take care of her health. Jiaoqiu is knowledgeable in alchemical recipes and uses food as medicine. To make it easier to prepare healing potions, he invented a cauldron called the “nine-square grid.”
Despite the eternal smile on his face, the fox is not as simple as he seems. He is cunning and is able to fight back against the enemy. In battle, Jiaoqiu deals fire damage and literally roasts opponents. He also follows the path of Nothingness and can deal periodic damage.
How to get
Since Jiaoqiu is an event legendary, you can only get it during its banner, which starts on August 21 and runs until September 11, so save up your jades.
It’s hard to say when the fox will be rerun, so we recommend testing it properly in a test run and a story mission and deciding whether it’s worth knocking it out. But if you have Acheron, then Jiaoqiu is a must-have in squads with it.

Traces and abilities
Capabilities
Name | Type | Description |
Flaming Heart | Basic attack | Selects a target and deals fire damage to it. |
Fiery onslaught | Skill | Attacks the target enemy and two adjacent targets with fire, placing 1 level of the Burning Ash debuff on them. |
The Magic of Pyrography | Superpower | Evens out the number of Hot Ash levels on enemies, focusing on the highest number of stacks. Creates a special zone on the battlefield that lasts for three turns and deals fire damage to enemies.
All enemies during the zone’s duration receive increased damage from the characters’ ult and have a chance to gain levels of Hot Ash. The effect can trigger up to 6 times during the duration of Jiaoqiu’s super ability. |
A quartet of refined taste | Talent | When Jiaoqiu attacks an enemy, he has a 100% chance to place 1 stack of Burning Ash on them. Each stack increases the damage taken by the target.
Burning Ash stacks up to 5 times and lasts for 2 turns. It also counts as a Burning status and deals periodic fire damage at the start of the enemy’s turn. |
Flame Suppression | Technique | When activated, creates a field that lasts for 15 seconds. When an enemy in the field is attacked, all enemies will receive Fire Damage and the Burning Ash status at the start of the battle. |
Traces
Name | When does it open? | Description |
Fire of Purification | 2 rise | At the beginning of the battle, restores 15 units of energy. |
Flame of the Hearth | 4th rise | If the hit rate of the effects is greater than 80%, then for every 15% above this value, Jiaoqiu’s attack power increases by 60%. A total of 240% bonus can be obtained. |
Smoldering aroma | 6th rise | While the healer’s ultimate field is active in combat, all enemies entering combat automatically gain the Roasted Ash status based on the highest number of stacks. |
Jiaoqiu Light Cones
Icon | Name | Characteristics | Description |
Countless spring days | Gives the wearer a 60-100% chance to hit effects. When using a basic attack, E-shka or ult, there is a 60% chance to apply the Armor Off status to the enemy, which increases damage by 10-18% for 2 turns.
If there is any status with periodic damage at this time, Armor Away turns into the Cornered status, which additionally increases damage taken by 14-20% for 2 turns. |
A powerful cone of light that covers the need for a chance to hit effects and cuts off resistance to incoming damage on enemies.
May also fit other characters in the Void, so it’s useful for the account. |
|
The Victim’s View | Increases the chance to hit effects by 20-40% and the damage over time bonus by 24-48%. | A decent replacement for Signe, but can only compete with it at 5 stacks. Overall, a good cone that also buffs the healer’s damage over time. | |
Before the start of the training mission | Provides a 20-40% chance of effects hitting. When attacking an enemy with reduced defense, the wearer restores 4-8 units of energy. | An alternative to Prey’s Gaze, but currently unobtainable, this cone was available during the first Silver Wolf banner in 1.1.
To implement the passive, the squad must have either Pela or Silver Wolf. |
|
The rain never stops | The wearer gains a 24-40% chance to hit effects. When dealing damage to an enemy with 3 or more debuffs, the critical hit chance increases by 12-20%.
When using a basic attack, E-Shka or ult, the enemy is given the Ethereal Code status, which increases incoming damage by 12-20% for 1 turn. |
A good alternative cone with a passive that suits Jiaoqiu. The only downside is that it’s Silver Wolf’s signature weapon and can only be obtained during her banner. | |
Determination shines like pearls of sweat | When hitting an enemy, applies the Catch status to them (if they don’t have it yet) with a 60-100% chance. The defense of an enemy hit by Catch is reduced by 12-16% for 1 turn. | One of the best options for almost all characters of the Void, but requires 5 impositions. And in the case of Jiaoqiu, you also need to get at least the optimal 140% chance of hitting effects. |
Relics
When selecting artifacts, you should focus on three parameters: the chance of effects hitting, speed and attack power. Since Jiaoqiu is primarily intended to support other damage dealers, he should walk quickly and apply the Hot Ash status to cut resistances.
The main stats on relics will look like this:
- Body – chance of effects hitting;
- Boots – speed;
- Planar Sphere – % Attack Power or Fire Damage;
- Connective Ligament – Energy recovery rate or % of attack power.
Cave relics
In the case of sets, Jiaoqiu is pretty funny. Strictly speaking, only one of the full sets is suitable for him, but there is a nuance in that he will work best in packs with periodic damage. And in other cases, he is going for a 2+2 set of Pathfinder of Dead Waters and Herald Wandering in Hackerspace .
The first set will give us 12% damage to enemies with debuffs, and the second – 6% speed. This is a good build that is easy to implement in combat and allows Jiaoqiu to move more often.
From full sets, you can put Prisoner of the Dark Dungeon if you plan to take the fox in squads with Kafka. For 2 parts of the set, he will receive 12% attack, and for 4 parts, if enemies have up to 3 effects with periodic damage, the wearer ignores 6% (up to 18%) of their defense.
Planar decorations
The best set of planar decorations on Jiaoqiu is considered to be Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise . It gives him a 10% chance to hit effects and an attack power equal to 25% of the current SPE. All this is necessary for the maximum efficiency of the character.
Ageless Fleet and Broken Keel are roughly equal in usefulness and can be chosen depending on what stats your squad needs. Fleet will give 12% health to the wearer, and if its speed is 120 or higher, then allies will receive 8% attack. Keel gives 10% resistance to effects, and if this indicator is 30% or higher, then allies receive 10% critical damage.
Teams with Jiaoqiu
The first team is the most obvious. Jiaoqiu was created as if specifically for packs with Acheron, so we take her for the main damage slot and add another character of the Nonexistence. We take Gallagher for the last slot to accumulate weakenings even faster.
The pack contains:
- Acheron;
- Jiaoqiu;
- Pela/Welt/Silver Wolf;
- Gallagher.
The second option is aimed at playing from periodic damage. It turns out to be a rather interesting pack with different vulnerabilities, which can be slightly adjusted to suit yourself.
Such a squad may include:
- Kafka;
- Jiaoqiu;
- Black Swan/Sampo;
- Hoho/Gallagher.
Eidolons
Level | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Five ways, five tastes | Enemies with the Burning Ash status receive 40% more damage. Each time the talent activates the effect, the status gains 1 more level. |
2 | The taste of suffering | If an enemy has the Burning Ash debuff applied to them, they will take 300% more fire damage from this debuff. |
3 | Irresistible harmony | +2 levels to E-class, +1 level to basic attack. |
4 | A calm heart, peace in the soul | While the ult field is active, enemies deal 15% less damage. |
5 | The battle between light and darkness | +2 levels in ult, +2 levels in talent. |
6 | Flame of Nine Colors | If an enemy with the Burning Ash status is defeated, all levels of this status are transferred to the enemy with the least amount of them. In this case, up to 9 levels of Burning Ash can be applied. Each of them reduces the target’s resistance to all effects by 3%. |
We wish you to knock out a fox for your squad, if you plan to do so.
